Happy Sunday, everyone, and Happy International Women’s Day!
This occasion can trace its beginnings to the US in the early 20th century, when American women protested for better working conditions and voting rights. Since then, International Women’s Day has grown into a global celebration of women, as well as a platform to call for greater gender equality all over the world.
There are many events taking place today to mark the occasion, and there are a lot of things to do at Seoulbeats as well.
You can start by checking out the following SB Mixtapes made for, by and of ladies:
There are also a number of articles celebrating wonderful women in Hallyu, from Lee Guk-joo, to Hong Jin-young, to Amber, to the ladies of K-hip hop (many of whom are appearing on Unpretty Rapstar), and more.
On the more serious side, there are also articles on slut shaming, sexuality (trigger warning for the next two) domestic violence and sexual abuse, as well as articles on the issues comediennes face, as well as those of female idols who just want to crack the odd joke, among many others.
Readers, what are you doing/did you do for International Women’s Day?
