The news marks Nicole’s first foray as a soloist under her new agency B2M Entertainment (also home to Lee Hyori, Spica, and Eric Nam) following her decision to not renew her contract as a member of KARA earlier this year. Nicole has reportedly partnered with production team Sweetune on the album.
The mini-album will consist of 6 tracks, “Innocent” featuring Spica’s Kim Boa, “7-2-Misunderstanding” featuring Dongwoo of Infinite, “Joker” featuring Ricky of Teen Top, “Love”, and the title track “MAMA”, including an instrumental version of “MAMA”.
Two teaser videos have been released for her single, “MAMA”, the first featuring a heavily inked Nicole while the second depicts her dancing in dimly lit settings, contrasting with scenes of the singer in the same room against whitewashed walls.
Promotional photos focus on Nicole’s body art in higher quality, and the most discernible tattoo reads, “Il y a quelqu’un bonheur dans la vie, c’est d’aimer et d’être aimer,” translated from French to mean, “There is only one lucky thing in life, to love and be loved.”
The teasers certainly showcase a more sensual side to Nicole, from her breathy voiceovers to the glimpses of jazzy choreography we’re given. Watch the full music video when it drops on November 19!
