20130508_seoulbeats_b1a42BANAs everywhere are probably crying tears of joy right now.

On the May 18th episode of Music Core B1A4 won #1, beating out newcomer Roy Kim, staple girl group 4minute, and even the queen of K-pop herself Lee Hyori.

Not only did they beat out such fierce competition in the running, but this is also the group’s very first win on a major music show since their debut. The group has had their set image of wacky-but-cute since their debut back in 2011 with their hit single “O.K.,” and they’ve grown so much since then. They are now promoting their newest single “What’s Going On” with much apparent success.

As soon as the win was announced, B1A4 shed tears of shock and happiness. Leader Jinyoung struggled with words even after he recomposed himself enough to thank the company, staff members, and, at the very last second if you listen carefully, their fans.

Even before seeing the results, when B1A4 came up in the running against Lee Hyori for the top spot, they said that they were honored and grateful that they would even be considered alongside her.

What do you think, readers? Are you excited to see B1A4 win first?

Taemin is my weakness, and I have a love-hate relationship with dramas. In real life, I'm a writer, but I also do a good bit of wedding and portraiture photography with occasional print and logo design. I love a good book, a perfect cup of coffee, a long run and pretty much any kind of food.
