Welcome to Best of Weekly Music Shows! There were a lot of great performances this week backed by a slew of comebacks and solo debuts. Myname and 4minute both returned to the stage while Amber and Niel made their debuts as soloists. It was a competitive week with four different winners all claiming a piece of the crown. Infinite H received trophies from both SBS MTV‘s The Show and Mnet M!Countdown. Zion.T and Crush were first place winners on MBC Show Champion and Show Music Core. Yonghwa won on KBS Music Bank, and Naul was the winner of the SBS Inkigayo trophy. I have selected a few performances that stood out to me, and please make sure to share yours as well in the comment section below!

Even during his goodbye stages, Jonghyun brings out that extra energy to give a memorable performance. Zion.T’s feature was a highlight. They both are such great singers whose voices can cut through an instrumental. I also like their little shout outs to one another at the end of this stage.

I love this round of promotions from My Name. “Too Very So Much” is full of character as are these guys. I wondered how I haven’t heard more from them, and it turns out that they have been promoting overseas for the past year and a half. Nonetheless, their performance along with this song is still a lot of fun.

Frankly, almost all of Zion.T and Crush’s stages have been exceptional. I personally find the vocals clearer on the Simply K-pop set, and the added snow confetti at the end was a fitting accent rounding out the mood of the song. Zion.T and Crush make a great duo because of how well their voices complement one another. These two have that vocal consonance that melts into your ears.

Between these two songs, I prefer Amber’s singing voice on “Beautiful” more. “Beautiful,” like its title name, is a wonderfully delicate song with a great message in its lyrics. Amber’s voice is fresh and has a unique tone to it. As for “Shake that Brass,” while the song hasn’t quite caught on for me, I can appreciate her performance. The horn heavy tune is high energy and shows that Amber is more than capable of holding her own on stage — as a soloist.

This stage was my personal favorite out of the ones they had this week. The camera work was steadier, there were fewer cuts, and the editing wasn’t as distracting as their other stages. These ‘less is more’ factors helped in showcasing 4minute’s strong dance performance of “Crazy,” which has been my jam since its release.

These guys hit it out of the park with their rendition of “The Wind Blows” on I Am A Singer 3. The vocals from the foursome are perfect. Those four part harmonies at the end were impeccable. It is stunning how these four who first started singing together at a glee club in university have since gone on to take those talents and chemistry to such great heights. Simply sublime.

These females are seriously the real stars of this performance. Jessi has a strong command of the stage, and her rapping is filled with charisma. However, Cheetah is still my favorite between the two. Her rap verse was killer, and her flow is undeniable. Overall, they owned the stage and showed everyone how to put on an electric performance. When Cheetah pulled Kangnam’s hair back, I lost it. If you aren’t watching Unpretty Rapstar, you are missing out on some really wonderful talents on the mic.
