Headlines

  • On November 5, Yang Hyun-suk (YG) attended his first trial for the charge of threatening an informant. The informant had information about B.I.’s drug purchase and usage, and the trial revealed that Yang had threatened the informant. Although he denied the charge, a police officer came forward as a witness to claim that the retaliation and threat had occurred. The next trial takes place next month on December 6.
  • The CEO of Milagro Entertainment admitted to manipulating the charts for their trot artist, Young Tak. The singer was unaware of the manipulation.

  • 2AM made a long-awaited comeback after 7 years with “No Good in good-bye” and “Should’ve Known“.
  • The Boyz channeled their fierce side in their comeback MV, “Maverick“.

  • Victon will celebrate their fifth anniversary with “Sweet Travel” on November 9.

Other News

  • Some key information from Hybe Entertainment‘s corporate briefing on November 4:
    • Weverse and V Live will merge by next year, and the new version of Weverse will launch in the first half of 2022. V Live technology will be transferred over to Weverse.
    • Hybe will be partnering with Dunamu to launch NFTs, particularly for photocards.
    • There are plans to debut a girl group in the U.S., as well as a debut project for a boy group in Japan.
  • The Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) 2021 have announced their list of nominees, as well as new judging criteria for the selection of winners. Other than “Worldwide Icon of the Year” and “Worldwide Fans’ Choice Top 10”, all other categories will no longer be determined by fan votes.
