Headlines

  • The Seoul metropolitan court ruled in favor of Kang Daniel, accepting his request to suspend his contract with LM Entertainment. Kang isn’t quite in the clear yet, as LM announced they plan to file an objection. Check out our more in-depth coverage of LM Entertainment’s recent controversies here.
  • Despite the fact that courts have already ruled in favor of Jun Hyosung regarding contract termination from T.S. Entertainment — and that she has signed with a new agency — T.S. is now seeking 1 billion won in damages against the singer.
  • Actress Han Hyo-joon sued 33 people for the circulation of false information after her name was brought up in connection to the Burning Sun scandal.
  • A warrant was issued for Choi Jonghoon‘s detention ahead of trail. Police cited fears that he may seek to destroy evidence regarding his alleged sex crimes.
  • Pre-detention warrants were also issued for Seungri and Yoo In-suk for embezzlement and mediation of prostitution on May 8. Then, on May 9, it was revealed that Seungri is also suspected of soliciting prostitution services in his own home back in 2015.
  • The final report of the re-investigation into the death of actress Jang Ja-yeon is expected to be submitted on May 13. While investigations appeared to be more in-depth this time around, will any new facts come to light?

  • Momoland and Vietnamese singer Erik came together for the ballad, “Love is Only You.”
  • Nam Woohyun and Junoflo sang “Hold on Me” in the Infinite member’s latest solo effort.
  • Eric Nam continued to charm with the MV for “Runaway.”
  • Can you believe The Fifth Season is Oh My Girl‘s first full album? What did you think of the fanastical MV for “SSFWL“?
  • It was a bittersweet week for Exo fans. Following his enlistment on May 7, Xiumin released the SM Station track, “You.”
  • Vixx‘s Hyuk paired up with An Daeun (The Ade) for “If Only.

  • Chen and Han Byul will release the ballad “May We Bye” on May 13.
  • Weki Meki are getting pretty detailed in their Lock End Love teasers. “Picky Picky” will drop on May 13.
  • Also due out on the 13th is BtoB Peniel‘s “B.O.D.
  • Though Hani and Jeonghwa have left Banana Culture, EXID will continue to promote as five in Japan for the remainder of the year, and their May 15 “Me&You” comeback will proceed as usual. Banana Culture maintains that EXID is not disbanding, and the company is working on the logistics of the group promoting as five through different agencies.
  • Lovelyz are very floral in the teasers for Once Upon a Time.
  • Cherry Bullet are gearing up to make their first comeback on May 22. with Love Adventure.
  • Hyolyn‘s digital single “You Know Better” has been rescheduled for a May 23 release.
  • MBK has begun to introduce the MBK Boys through Twitter.
  • Fresh out of his military service, Kyuhyun is already confirmed for a solo comeback this month, as well as appearances on Salty Tour and New Journey to the West.

Other News

  • Produce X 101 only just began airing, and a scandal has already arisen. JYP trainee Yun Seobin‘s history of bullying resurfaced online. He has since been removed from the show, and dropped by JYP Entertainment. Yun issued an apology and said he is currently reflecting back in his hometown. Meanwhile, Produce X 101 producers requested that participating agencies perform more intensive screening of their trainees.
  • Loona‘s Haseul will be on hiatus from group activities for personal reasons.
  • Fantagio‘s CEO Wei Jie was arrested in China for fraud. However, Fantagio Korea’s business should not be affected as they function under independent management.
  • Bora and Feeldog ended their two year relationship.
  • High Star Entertainment confirmed that HALO members’ contracts have expired. However, negotiations are still in the works.
  • Upon the realization that the fanclub name “Young Ones” was already claimed by Tiffany fans, Big Hit announced the TXT will rename their fanclub.
  • Highlight‘s Dongwoon began his military service this week. Wishing him all the best.
  • Actress Han Ji-seong passed away in a car accident. Details are still unclear, but her husband — who survived the crash — admitted to being intoxicated when they stopped the car in the center lane of traffic on the expressway.
