Welcome to another edition of SB Week in Review! This week we celebrated Valentine’s Day with a lot of special releases, as well as a ton of comeback teasers. Without further ado, here’s all the news you might have missed:

Headlines

  • Crayon Pop‘s Soyul and Moon Hee-jun tied the knot last weekend to the backdrop of a scandal that he used concerts to raise funds for his wedding. All the bad press aside, congratulations to the couple!
  • Following his controversial leaked comments that surfaced last week, Lee Hwayoung has been removed from Boys24. The company also apologized on his behalf.
  • Actor Yoo Ah-in announced that he has been diagnosed with a benign bone tumor. While many fans expressed support for the celebrity in battling his diagnosis, misunderstandings also arose including the belief that he was using the diagnosis to dodge his military enlistment. Not only did his agency respond to clarify that his health is in good standing, but Yoo Ah-in also penned an eloquent personal letter to fans. We wish him all the best with his treatment.
  • Following an appearance by Hwayoung on Mnet‘s Taxi, the T-ara controversy has re-emerged and continues to take its toll on the remaining members: Jiyeon has put her solo comeback on hold for the time being.
  • Contestant Jang Yong-joon has left the Mnet show High School Rapper, following the realization that he is the son of a politician and the uncovering of some controversial past comments regarding his attending “conditional meetings” — which is a euphemism for soliciting prostitution. His father Jang Je-won not only issued an apology letter for his son’s comments, but resigned from his position in Busan City Hall. Jang Yong-joon himself shared a heartfelt apology in the wake of his removal from the show.
