Welcome to another week of performances! Mnet held their 20’s Choice Awards, bringing back some performers from earlier in the year. MBC also aired their Changwon Hope Concert which did the same. This week’s winners were all ladies: A Pink snagged awards from MBC Music Show! Champion and KBS Music Bank while 2NE1 reigned in Mnet M! Countdown, MBC Music Core, and SBS Inkigayo. The week also saw a major comeback from Infinite and Exo performing at the 27th Summer Universiade in Kazan, Russia. Below are my favorites of the week, but don’t forget to comment with your own!

The fast-paced choreography initially makes it seem like some movements might be too fast for the song, but they’re softened out with slower moves here and there. The group is very much in sync where it matters, like for sharp turns or straight arm lines. That hand-waving move looks like it’d be great aerobic exercise.

Infinite’s “Inception” + “Destiny,” Mnet 20’s Choice Awards, July 18, 2013
It was a nice treat to see “Inception” performed live on the group’s comeback stage. The more laid-back nature of “Inception”is a really good contrast to the higher energy of “Destiny.” I can’t tell if the moves are meant to be that way, but as a whole, they look a little less in sync than they usually are. Regardless, they’re still more in sync than most groups, so it works. “Destiny” doesn’t have my favorite choreography from the group — I think “Paradise” or “The Chaser” has that for me — but it’s still a good one. The group also nabbed the ’20’s Best Touring Artist’ award, so congratulations to them!

The intro seemed a little awkward with the poses that work better in the dance, but it was good to see the group perform again and grab two awards: ’20’s Voice’ and ’20’s Mwave Global Star.’ The choreography is still rocks the stage and they all cut a good figure in the black suits.

The vocals started off on the shaky side at the beginning, but once they got into the song, it was just so on point. I like how the choreography has extra emphasis on the beats, whether it’s that extra hair toss or faster movement. The end with the arms up and little kicks was also a favorite part.

This is the first song by A-JAX that I’ve actually liked. I like the mask hands and the different scenes cut by the choreography. It really makes the stage more dynamic and interesting to watch, especially at the start of the performance. During the more chaotic chorus, the less frenzied arm movements were welcome.

The stage set-up was nice for this performance: all pinks, purples, and blues with some neon accents. The back-up dancers were also far enough back that they didn’t distract from the duo, only making a major appearance to correspond to particular moves or if the camera zoomed in on them. Choiza and Gaeko were also high energy the whole time, working the crowd in the spare moments.
