Christmas came a month early when Shin Mina surprised her fans by starring in Rag & Bone’s first-ever campaign, the DIY Project. Rag & Bone is a New York based fashion label founded in 2002 by David Neville and Marcus Wainwright. Given the same remit as her predecessors (who include Sasha Pivivarova, Miranda Kerr and Candice Swanepoel) the brand supplied Shin Mina with a bag of clothes, a digital camera and four words: “Do as you please.” Beautifully raw and candid images that captivate the essence of Rag & Bone and Shin Mina were created along the shore lines of Busan, Korea. With the help of photographer SaeYong Zo, Mina’s DIY campaign successfully marries serenity and a picturesque getaway — a look one can only hope to mirror when wearing classic R&B garb.
And just when you thought your week couldn’t be topped, Rag & Bone releases, not one but two, black and white documented videos by DukHwa J. and SeungHwan Lee of Shin Mina donned in head-to-toe Rag & Bone gear. Giving us an even more intimate look into the new Rag & Bone girl, Shin Mina is quoted to say
First day we were by the beach. I have never laughed and smiled in front of the camera like that! The next day we took pictures in the hotel. It was incredibly calm listening to the autumn rain.
It’s hard to believe that such images were taken sans stylist and make-up in today’s hyper photoshopped world.
There are a total of 26 images released via Rag &Bone’s Facebook and Tumblr that has launched Shin Mina’s modeling debut in the American fashion industry.
