On This week’s 5 Things: Now That’s an Actress, a Best Love Heartbreaker, Forget 5 try 50, IU wants you to hold her hand, and Now that’s a Kiss.  These are the 5 Things that happened in Kpop last week that I think were a little bit more special than the rest.

Now That’s an Actress

This episode of 1N2D‘s Actress Special was a lots of laughs, but the best part was during the punishment for the losing team of Kang Ho-dong, Kim Jong-min, Lee Seung-gi, Kim Soo-mi, Lee Hye-young and Choi Ji-woo.  Na PD did promise that the losers would be going in the water and he wasn’t kidding.

And that is why Lee Soo-mi is still acting.  Dinner was also another adventure for the cast and guests, with some of the actresses rebelling against the meager fare and ultimately getting busted for…

Yup, sneaking the ramyun.

A Best Love Heartbreaker

I don’t know if I found Dokko Jin’s (Cha Seung-won) rendition of G-Dragon‘s “Heartbreaker” at a noraebang as hilarious or horrifying, but it was definitely worth watching.  I really hope he’s not that bad in real life, maybe he just needed a few (a lot of) shots of shoju.

So, I keep flip-flopping over who I like better Dokko Jin or Yoon Pil-joo, mostly I like Pil-joo better, but when Dokko Jin does things like this, it’s kind of great.

Forget 5 try 50

If you haven’t ever checked out CNN‘s international site CNN GO, you should.  There’s a lot of great articles about Asia: the culture, the food, where to visit, the gadgets.  I found this article that I loved “50 reasons why Seoul is No.1” as The World’s Greatest City. My favorite 5 out of their 50 (other than #30 G-Dragon and #1 Kal Bi which is a given):

#24 Superb service, random freebies, no tipping

#14 A bang for every occasion- it’s not what you think, it’s about the ‘bang’ or room culture there like the noraebangs, DVD bangs, board game bangs, and PC bangs

#10 Asia’s largest underground mall Coex in Samseong-dong is a sprawling playground of shops, arcades, restaurants, theaters and the Kimchi Museum

#3 World’s smartest, and cheapest, personal assistants- Haejuseyo chore services will pick up your dry-cleaning and deliver food — and perform more difficult, personalized chores at the low starting fee of ₩7,000 (I gotta get me one of these)

#2 Drama Queens- well, duh.

IU wants you to “Hold My Hand”

IU‘s latest release “Hold My Hand” is a self composed track for the Best Love OST.  The song is about the beginnings of love between a man and woman and features IU’s strong vocals, her acoustic guitar, and a rock beat with a heavy bass and drum set as accompaniment. I kind of wish they would have IU film an MV for the song because I think it could be cute, but Loen Entertainment released this MV of the song, via their official YouTube channel, which is made up of scenes from the drama so I don’t think it’s gonna happen.

IU’s “Hold My Hand” was featured in episode 7 of the drama which aired on May 25th.

Now that’s a Kiss

I’m surprised at how much I’m liking the Kdrama Lie to Me.  I’m neither a fan or hater of Yoon Eun-hye and I really didn’t know much about Kang Ji-hwan, but so far of all the dramas I’m watching now Lie To Me is the one that’s keeping me most interested.  Hands down the best moment from last week’s episodes, the ending of episode 6.  It doesn’t get much better than this.

I’m seriously becoming a fan girl of Kang Ji-hwan- well, except for the times when his voice is a little high and squeaky.

Those were the 5 things that I LOVED in Kpop last week, were they yours?
