Hyuna, the resident Trouble Maker of 4Minute, is lending her name–and face — to the annual fundraising event “Pink Wings” that is sponsored by Vogue Girl magazine. She is one of 10 celebrities taking part in this year’s campaign that combines fashion and star power to raise money for scholarships for underprivileged young adults. Every year, the famous participants take part in a fashion shoot using many popular clothing and cosmetics brands, which is published in the pages of Vogue Girl. The items featured are then sold at deep discounts and all the proceeds from the special sale benefit the campaign. While Hyuna was styled in clothing from brands like H&M, Agent Provocateur, See by Chloe and American Apparel; special attention was paid to the idol’s makeup.
Two very drastic looks came courtesy of M.A.C. Cosmetics; one shows Hyuna with a fresh and dewy nude look that features the brands Cremeblend Blush in “Optimistic Orange” while her lips are done in “Pretty Please” lipstick (although the same color, the shade is called “Razzle Dazzler” in Korea). A much bolder look, befitting the corset she dons, comes from the “Color Added: Eyeshadow X4” kit that includes both the bright yellow and muted turquoise seen on the singer’s eye-popping lids. Her bright lips are courtesy of the “Impassioned” lipstick.
The items used on Hyuna from both brands range in price from $16-$38. The beauty of this charity — pun absolutely intended — is that because the brands involved are already more affordable to begin with, and in common use as well, “Pink Wings” is setting themselves up for success. Even younger fans can afford discounted lip gloss and bangle bracelets that they probably would have bought anyways, and now they get that feel-good sensation of helping society that goes along with their purchase!
What do you think of Hyuna’s contribution to this campaign? Which of her faces was your favorite?
