Following the success of Monstar, another musical drama is in the works from Mnet. The series, called Perseverance, Goo Hae-ra (more literally translated as Fail seven times, succeed on the eighth), will center around heroine Goo Hae-ra, who hopes to get signed to agency in order to have her father’s work be known to the world. With this mission, she and twin brothers Kang Sae-jong and Kang Sae-chan audition in reality talent show Superstar K2. Fear not — the inevitable love triangle and coming-of-age storyline have also been confirmed.
The drama is currently casting, and the line-up features a star-studded cast. Actress Min Hyo-rin, who previously debuted as a singer, has been cast as Goo Hae-ra. Jinyoung of B1A4 will play a lead as one of the twin brothers, while Henry of Super Junior M is basically portraying himself as a quirky genius musician also named Henry. Talent show veterans Park Kwang-sun of Ulala Session (who won Superstar K3) and Yoo Sung-eun from Voice of Korea have also been casted in roles as singers in the show.

The series will commence filming this November and is expected to premiere in January.
