Welcome back to another instalment of For Your Viewing Pleasure, where we take time out of the week to curate a set of photos from the K-pop landscape.

Nothing makes a photograph more alluring than the piercing gaze of its subject. Regardless of the distance between the camera and the subject and the lighting in the photograph, some just have that look—the look that can transfix any viewer. In his cover photoshoot with Vogue, BTS‘s leader RM takes on a classic portrait pose: three-quarter turn, shoulders and up, simple turtleneck. However, the marvel is his eyes, which unflinchingly gaze at those beyond the camera. Fourth gen darling Wonyoung of IVE approaches it a little differently. The close-up of her face draws attention immediately to the gray-blue of her eyes. Some rosier blush also works to bring the viewer’s own eyes in. But, again, it is the unwavering moment of Wonyoung locking in her gaze that helps make this image a particularly captivating one.
