For Your Viewing Pleasure: Feeling Icy

Welcome back to another instalment of For Your Viewing Pleasure, where we take time out of the week to curate a set of photos from the K-pop landscape.

As the shortest day of the year fast approaches and the weather takes on a sharper chill in the Northern Hemisphere (even Taiwan is experiencing a cold snap), photoshoots are following suit. This iciness appears in a few different ways, such as makeup, lighting, and the expression of the subject. Hyunjin and Felix of Stray Kids emulate the former with the sunshine of the group showing a chillier side through the gems on his cheeks and the lithe dancer topping off his intense stare with a streak of blue eyeshadow. Meanwhile, Xiaoting of Kep1er gives off “ice princess” vibe in her pictorial with the Chinese magazine Waves. Diamonds bejewel her simple black dress and the crown sitting firmly atop her tightly coiled hair. Her unmoving gaze adds another definition to “icy;” she will never back down, no matter what.
