Welcome back to another instalment of For Your Viewing Pleasure, where we take time out of the week to curate a set of photos from the K-pop landscape.

As the crisp air of fall arrives for those in the Northern Hemisphere, photoshoots are starting to take cozier feels with a hint of melancholy. The images below capture this hard-to-put-a-finger-on sentiment through their emphasis on physical distance between the subject and viewer or by severing the connecting eye contact of the models. BTSV, for example, in his Vogue shoot, points his gaze away from the camera, caught in his own world. Seulgi of Red Velvet spares viewers a glance through the corner of her eye, but her face is so far away that it is difficult to pinpoint the expression in these photos released ahead of her solo debut, 28 Reasons. The images for Jun‘s digital single “Limbo” falls under neither category. Instead, the camera allows for others to see the lithe dancer of Seventeen in between gauze, hints of red finding its way into the frame. But as they say, distance often makes the heart grow fonder.
