What’s up Seoulmates! Another week, another music show round up! The burgeoning springtime is jammed backed with debuts and comebacks, and we literally have music pouring out our ears a plenty! From all your new faves to your old, they are buzzing about the music stage just waiting to woo you! Check out my picks for the week!
130213 Gaon Chart K-POP Awards B.A.P. “Rain Sound” and “No Mercy”
[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ocrEQiOQWi4&w=560&h=315]I think it is absolutely no secret now that I am diehard B.A.P. fan, so I’m not going to spend too much time gushing about them. However, they did take home the Rookie Award at the Gaon Chart K-POP Awards. These warriors went on to deliver a live stage full of power and with no mercy; thank goodness they didn’t crash, or I would have been crying ‘stop it!’ and ‘you had only one shot!’ Har har.
And I know the “One Shot” performances began this weekend but I really couldn’t pass up this live stage!
130213 Gaon Chart K-POP Awards Super Junior “Mister Simple” and “Sexy, Free, and Single”
[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gMb0SpYLJrE&w=560&h=315]Okay, who doesn’t love a little SJ? I was almost literally born an ELF, so it’s impossible for me not to think every SJ stage is a great stage.
130214 Mnet Countdown Rainbow “Golden Touch” and “Tell Me Tell Me”
[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Y-nd90mr3M&w=560&h=315]I honestly never cared much for Rainbow, but I did pity that they got shafted they way did by their own entertainment agency this past year–I mean c’mon, it’s not like DSP was busy with SS501 or something…Anyways, I think they’re making a good effort with this comeback, and they’ve come along way since “Gossip Girl” so why not give them a chance? Their outfits are also ADORABLE, I might add.
130214 Mnet Countdown Baechigi ft. Hello Venus Yooara “Shower of Tears”
[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJoLTxug4vs&w=560&h=315]I have no idea who Baechigi is truthfully, but their joint stage with Hello Venus’ Yooara (who is KILLN IT at the mic) was a nice break from the K-pop grind. Can’t really ever go wrong with a solid hip-hop stage.
130215 KBS Music Bank Sistar19 “Not Gone Around Any Longer”
[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXzy1WakXQU&w=560&h=315]Sistar19 has been slaying it left and right on the charts, even though I think “Gone Not Around Any Longer” had a lot more potential that what was actually executed. Nevertheless, I love Hyorin and the liquid gold that comes out of her over-worked vocal chords, so I have to stick a Sistar19 perf in here. I particularly liked this stage for the simple outfits–for some reason, it really put the drama back in the choreography.
130215 KBS Music Bank C.N.Blue “I’m Sorry”
[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCldgvjgEZk&w=560&h=315]I still love this song. I can’t seem to get over the edgy front in this number, and Yonghwa growling into the mic really doesn’t help my case for moving on from it. Though I really wish he would just say “Are you crazy?” instead of “Are you craze?” Ah, whatever, as long as he keeps using the sex voice, I can’t even be mad. Where is Jungshin’s hair though?!
130216 MBC Music Core NU’EST “Hello”
[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jpnhwf2rJRU&w=560&h=315]Ah, my second favorite rookies of 2012 finally make a comeback! I am totally entranced by the gorgeously and hauntingly melodic “Hello” by NU’EST. They really stand out with this slow, smooth number, and I’m glad they sound refreshed and ready for the mic (unlike some rookies who never stop…). I’m wishing them all the best this spring!
130216 MBC Music Core Infinite H “Without You”
[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MSsZ8kZBdrA&w=560&h=315]Finally, my guilty pleasure–Infinite H. “Without You” really makes better use of Hoya and Dongwoo’s (*swoon*) rapping ability, and I’m glad they’re getting this sub-unit opportunity to stand another platform of genre separate from the Infinite’s overall sound (which, truth be told, I’m not a fan of). Anyhow, these boys still look fresh and can still deliver after all these weeks, so props to them.
Who were your favorites this week and who should we be keeping an eye out for next time? As always, thanks for tuning in!
