SHINee Throwback: My Change of Heart

15

This is a throwback post; back to the days when I liked SHINee.

I wasn’t feeling them in the beginning. I didn’t want anyone calling me Noona, thank you very much. I wasn’t into the fresh-faced earnestness. I didn’t like the gold chain. I was not into the Terry “the Perv” Richardson inspired photo shoots.

And then I heard this:

I was sold.

Have you had experiences like that? When you adamantly dislike a group and then one thing changes your mind?

when I was getting in Kpop it was during their “Juliet” faze and well…I thought they looked pretty lame and wrote them off as being over hyped…
and then I actually listened to their CD…
    -.-
not a big fan of the “noona fan” title, but now that I’ve seen they have talent and personality I can’t help being into them^^
On the bright side though, I’m not older then Jonghyun and Onew, and Onew’s my favorite so it all works out^^ (same age as Jonghyun^^)

same, the first album is by far my favorite kpop album of all time.

I watched a video of them back in their rookie days of Romantic live, plus Jonghyun singing that one spanish song, and was like “No. shit. wow.” Plus replay is just so good and addictive and dangit, i miss their rookie days, although they were kind of like the weirdest looking kids ever…

Big Bang, hearing Lies started it all.
and then seeing GD’s PV of his own version of Maroon 5′s This Love. Awesome.

Junsu. Out of all DBSK members, I didn’t like him, but then I heard him sing Rainy Night and was sold.

Ah, my Junsu moment was hearing him sing Beautiful Thing live. It’s kind of a ridiculous song, but his voice is out of this world.

my bias would always be JJ,,,but when my sister said Junsu’s got the most beautiful voice out of all of them,,,i started to really hear him…and wow…just amazing :)

IVY did it for me. “Cupid” and “Sonata of Temptation” were dreadfully annoying but I gave her latest album a try and I was sold, it’s definitely one of my favorite kpop albums

It was DBSK for me. Hug was just too sweet and I couldn’t resist 5 boys with dashing good looks and angelic voices.

As big as they may be (even when they’re split up), I didn’t get DBSK at first.
I came in just when they started to disappear within all the legal drama, and missed out on the hit that was Mirotic, so at the time they didn’t seem quite that ‘huge’ to me.
I pushed them aside and got on with my kpop obsession but after some time, I felt like I should give these guys a real go instead of my usual half hearted mv visit or read of their lawsuit escapade because duh, I at least knew they were famous.
I had seen their usual hits already, and they were good at that point but only finally became worthy of their status in my eyes once I heard ‘Tonight’.
Then I looked it up and saw them singing it live. So. Good. :) I wad solld. BUT, as fate would have it, they were on the verge of break up. Hahaa. Ahh well better late than never I guess :)

I used to not like Big Bang my friend told me to look them up I listened to La La La and i immediately rejected them.
Then i watched the documentary from their training days and I was like I love these guys maybe I should give them a second chance and I did and now they are my favourite Boy group

When SNSD released “Tell Me Your Wish (Genie).” Not gonna lie, when I got into K-pop my diehard Cassie/ELF and Soshi hater of a friend influenced me too much, making me think badly of SNSD without checking them out properly.

Then one day, they released “Genie.” I was sold. The song’s too good for me to ignore, really.

SNSD with “Into the New World”. Didn’t know anything about them except Gee, Genie, and that a lot of people hate them. Then someone linked me to Into the New World and I will say this- out of all kpop groups, boy and girl, in the 21st century, they have the best debut *ever*. Great song. Great vocals. Great dance. Great music video. Inarguably SMEnt’s best debut music video with their current existing idol groups

DBSK. Didn’t hate them or love them until I heard “Why did I fall in love you with” live. Oh god, I was just like *dies* you have me for life. Then I heard the acapella version and I sold my soul to them :/

And as a die-hard shawol, I must say that you really can’t appreciate shinee until you actually listen to their album. Their title songs or “promo” songs don’t even compare to their ballads. That’s why I love them…though I admit their pretty boy looks and AH-MAZING dancing skills brought me a ticket on the shawol train, but if it was on music alone “replay” and “lucifer” would not have. Oh SM, why must you disgrace my boys with bubblehead pop songs :< Let their voice shine more please.

EXACTLY. I like their personalities and looks as well, but that’s not what keeps me listening to their albums over and over. Though I’m not as fond of their mini albums, their full albums are amazing.
