Welcome back to this week’s edition of Best of Weekly Music Shows! The summer comeback season continued to turn up the heat this week as NS Yoon.G, BtoB, and Nine Muses returned with their own summer tracks. Overall, the wins were distributed pretty evenly with Sistar, AOA and even Teen Top taking home their own trophies.
With so many groups returning in the span of a few weeks, it’s difficult to narrow down to a select few performances, but here are my highlights of the week:

BtoB began their round of comeback stages this week with “It’s Okay.” I’m appreciating the change of pace from the group with a more heartwarming ballad. The sensual stool choreography was a little unexpected, but nonetheless appreciated. Their Music Bank performance this week highlighted the group’s vocal talents with seemingly effortless falsetto and well executed rap breaks. I’m loving that the “It’s Okay” stages give each member a moment to shine.

Nine Muses came back surprisingly strong this week with “Hurt Locker.” Questionable styling aside (are those utility belts?), their Music Bank comeback stage was a pleasure to watch. Not only was the set itself gorgeous but the choreography and energy from the group were on point. It’s difficult to not root for Nine Muses after their tumultuous five-year run, and I think this comeback showcases exactly how much the group has grown.

While I was a huge fan of the police uniforms during their Inkigayo stage, BTS’s Music Bank stage took the cake for me this week. The coordis are really making use of every uniform imaginable and this stage was graced by a school boy, sailor, waiter and even a pilot. Outfits aside, Bangtan continues to deliver with a good mix of charisma and boyish charms.

Say what you want about another Brave Brothers track, but I’m really enjoying this comeback from AOA. “Heart Attack” shows off a more cutesy side of the girl group that fits well with the summer comeback season.

You can’t help but smile when Sistar takes the stage. Even if “Shake It” isn’t the strongest summer comeback song the ladies have put out, there’s no denying they look like they’re having fun performing it. Their energy was particularly infectious during this week’s Music Core performance and I found myself na-na-na-ing long after the performance had ended.
Readers, what were some stand out performances for you this week?
