Welcome to another edition of SB Week in Review. Here’s all the news you might have missed over the past week:
Headlines
Your Seungri/Jung Joon-young Weekly Update:
- The latest is that Jung will be placed in a detention centre following a court-issued arrest warrant for the charges of filming and sharing hidden-camera videos. It has also come up that Jung has deleted information off his phone before handing it in as evidence. The phone had undergone a factory reset and lost all its information; the reason and time for this reset is being investigated by the police.
- As for Seungri, the former idol continues to make numerous excuses regarding his involvement in the controversy, calling himself a victim as he was supposedly unaware of the illegal activities (minors entering, drug-usage, allegations of date-rape drugs and sexual assault videos) taking place in his club. MBC has recently reported on a Burning Club staff member sexually assaulting and filming victims.
- Regarding the texts about prostitution that were sent out by Seungri, his lawyer claimed that they were typos. Seungri also claimed that it was impossible to remember texts from 2015, and that “[he] truly believe[s] they were fabricated.”
- Our team at Seoulbeats gathered for a Roundtable regarding the matter, with a more detailed write-up for events dated till March 15.
