LOL, already saw it coming during the voting. The fact that he was even in that category was weird, should’ve been idol actor or rookie actor as most people suggested. But it’s not meant to be serious anyway, it’s a popularity poll. I myself as a JYJ fan didn’t vote for him (or JYJ in the best song, video and album category) but it’s only because I thought other artists deserve it more. *shrugs*

Seriously i love jaejoong and all but him voted best actor? Next to Jung ill woo and kim soo hyun or any of the candidates? if it was a best idol actor then i would agree. And i loved protect the boss but princess’ man was an epic drama and i thought dream high was more cracktastic. It even earned the nickname crack high. But again this is a poll and people have different opinions. Happy that jyj has such supportive fans on here. Personally for best artist for the year would have been a tie with 2ne1 or infinite for me. And bigbang. They rocked all their performances and their lead singles were awesome or in 2ne1′s case all the songs they promoted. I loved how they promoted all the tracks in their mini with a music video and performances. That was a first in kpop. Infinite had a huge increase in popularity this year that was well deserved. Their orchestra remake of be mine was amazing. Big bang’s music video for love song was really well shot and different than most boyband kpop mvs so i would have voted for that as best music video. So for the most part i do not agree with the results.

Weird that you’d say that because we have 4,775 followers on Twitter.

From what I can tell, many SeoulBeats readers aren’t limited to loving one band. They love a variety of songs, artists, and albums without stanning one group or person in paticular. JYJ won most of the polls because many readers felt that they deserved it more than other groups. Several of them have stated why in the poll articles.

SNSD’s achievement is spectacular, no one is belittling that. But if you’re trying to say SNSD is more successful than THSK in Japan, then, well………, THSK has nine #1 singles when SNSD has none. In short, don’t let having a 650k-copies-sold-debut-album put your SNSD stanning heart at a high horse, because SNSD still has a long way to go.

And not all people will freaking agree to what every poll says, each person has his/her own argument. We fully know that you think SNSD is the best artist of the year, but some other have their own opinions too on who’s the one. :)

But judging by things like album sales, actual real polls, commercial endorsements, concerts, etc (you know ‘little’ things like that determine the popularity of an entertainer), SNSD is #1. So my ‘opinion’ corresponds with many other ‘opinions’ of many many many many many many many many more people than yours.

FYI : The Wondergirls sold a little above 35k of their album in Korea (GAON Charts) SNSD sold about 300k of the “The Boys” album in Korea.

What a fucking joke tbh. Cha Seung Won, Lee Min Ho and Han Seon Kyu should have been in the Top 3. PTB isn’t even close to being one of the best dramas, but since its based on voting, what fair results can I ever expect.

Best Actress should have gone to Su Ae. Moon Chae Won was good, but not good enough to top. The results for the acting categories are pretty screwed up, but i guess it should be expected for dramas with popular Kpop idols starring in it to be at the top since Kpop fans are the ones doing the voting.

Most of them actually have short legs. It’s the short pants and the boots/shoes/footwear and stance that give them that mannequinesque legs feel. I believe Wonder Girls have the best legs especially when Sunmi was still there. SNSD is famous because they were able to promote a “good” song at the right time (when Wonder Girls left) and they have not stopped promoting ever since (They’re everywhere, believe me… Especially the plainest of them).

How ridiculous and bitter do you have to be to take issue with a bunch of random people voting for their favorites/choices on a poll that doesn’t really mean much in a grand scale of things, and even call their integrity into question? This is an “OPINION” poll on ONE website in the whole internet. It’s just for fun.

It’s not a prestigious awards show, and even those award shows like the Oscars can be biased.

So what’s your issue? That people didn’t vote for whoever you thought “deserved” the best actor? That you think Jaejoong stole the awards from those who acted better that he did?

I guess JYJ winning in so many categories is just a reflection of fans dedication and our effort to promote our bias group since we feel that they are being blacklisted from the opportunity to promote freely. I can’t speak for our entire fandom, but many of us do really love In Heaven and voted accordingly. As much as I love my boys, I know that they are probably not the best artists with the best song, best video or best album this year; and let’s not even go there with Jaejoong’s acting-it’s decent but definitely not the best.

Nevertheless, they are talented and are slowly succeeding at becoming independent musicians and will only improve from here. What they are coming out with might not be stellar yet, but they are newbies learning to produce their own works without the backing of a major company. I see their potential as future artists and look forward to 2012.
In the end, this is only a poll, so I hope that other Kpop fans don’t get too upset. I guess a lot of JYJ fans enjoy reading Seoulbeats articles.^^ Btw, congrats to the other winners!

These are results of polls that ask SeoulBeats readers who they like as opposed to the polls being multiple choice, exam-like inquiries asking “who do you think sold the most units?” It’s subjective so that really makes the results questionable. No one will completely agree with the results.

However, next time, if you wish to be satisfied, please ask the thousands who bought SNSD albums to come to SeoulBeats and vote for SNSD. No one will argue with you then and you wouldn’t have to argue with anyone as well. For best debut i have no opinion cause frankly none of them made an impact on me.

For best concept I agree. Brown eye girl’s concept made a stronger impact on me, wondergirls concept kept shouting too Beyonce to me, snsd’s concept while amazing on trailer but while promoting its like they couldn’t sell it, while t-ara’s concept only got a meh… out of me.

For best song I was in between 2ne1 and wondergirls. Neither jyj, dbsk, nor ukiss’s song could pull me in.

For best artist I voted 2ne1. If only they promoted their songs longer. Don’t know why but jyj’s music just can’t hook me, tried a couple of times. Love bigbang and wondergirls but only like a couple their songs. In another word I like more 2ne1 songs than the other artist listed.

Men as much as I love JYJ/DBSK there are some categories that…. *sigh*
Boyfriend as a Boyband Debut…ahhhh I enjoyed more Rania’s songs but for a week I was singing nonstop “nan neoye Boyfriend, nan neoye Boyfriend” so I’m not that surprised..(I’m the only one who feels somehow ashamed to listen to this song? *goingcrazy*)
BEG’s concept was somehow overated for me( i come from an european country where these “concepts” are quite normal so I think is because of that). I preferred SunnyHill’s concept but I think I’m biased since I loved the song(and its meaning).
Best scandal I didn’t voted since for me that issue is to personal to have it in a fan pool…That segment was kinda off for me.
In best song, I was between In heaven and Love song.Though decision but at the end my bias won only because of the harmonization.
Best video for me was In heaven and not because I’m biased(maybe a bit but i could have voted for Before you go). Like I said before, BEG, wonderful song, good video but I think I’m desensitized already of those “political cliches”. Before you Go was too long and to messy for me..I didn’t knew what was really happening there(people just gave me different opinions).WG video’s to Beyonce vibe attached to it, and Big Bang’s video was good but It didnt pull me in as the song..
Best album, as much as I love In heaven album, there wasn’t as much diversity as in WG’s album so Congrats WG, but I still prefer Tablo’s album over all of them, even Beast’s album was great, but a little overated too.
Best actor…I love you JJ but you’re very far for beeing the best among the people you were put in. Maybe the best debut from an idol actor this year but not best actor here! LMH and CSW forgive our bias hearts!
In best Kdrama the fail was putting comedies, actions and dramas all in one…You have to take in account that many didn’t enjoyed City Hunter because didn’t like action or drama in the case of the Princess’ man.. For many Kdramas watchers like me, PTB was like a blow of fresh air in the drama sector where the plots were just beeing repeated, but I stil voted for City Hunter(manga fan here).

I even voted for these awards and I learned of the results by chance. I had the patience to read all the cast post and I could not help but laugh at some comments made without any objectivity. But laughter I cause you all take things so seriously.
Take care of poverty, wars, hunger, trafficking in women. Discuss to make our world a better place, not because JJ won best actor. Those who did not like the boss Protect as best novel because why bother to have won as best drama? Who has the truth in their hands as if to say who is better or worse? Neither engaged in it can decide that. for DG which sells more is the best and who can refute that? If an artist can make a fan repeatedly buy the same product, it means that the artist is good at it, no?
Who does not like JYJ, everything they do will seem mediocre, boring, meaningless, or of poor quality, To Wonder Girl someone will find some similarity to Beyoncé, For others, the WG’s disc will seem the best in the world (I’ve certainly not heard). I don’t agree with Jaejoong being best actor, not JYJ winning best music video for In Heaven (that mv sucked, I’m sorry Junsu, your face alone makes you in capable of being an actor), which should have been won by, uh…I don’t like watching k-dramas that much and Sixth Sense respectively (in my opinion). Regardless, polls are a popularity contest and fans always rabidly vote for their favourite artists. But to implicitly state that JYJ won solely on popularity is unfair. JYJ is a talented trio and In Heaven was a beautiful song and album. But it would be also naive to believe that JYJ won only by talent, just as if Big Bang, SNSD, and the other idol groups had topped the list. But nevertheless, I’m still happy that JYJ got a lot of love from seoulbeats readers. :D

Bang Yong-guk should’ve been best debut. I have absolutely no recollection of the other four. Isn’t that the whole point? Remembering who they are? I remember Bang Yong-guk.

No opinion on concept and scandal. Don’t care either.

JYJ’s “In Heaven” music video was actually put really well together. Homin’s “Before U Go” music video was also good even though both were kind of long. Even though I am not the biggest fan of Big Bang, the “Love Song” music video was good too. I would’ve tied all three.

Best song will have to go to JYJ. I’m more of a fast/R&B song type of person, but what can I say? That ballad got me.

Best album, on the other hand, I believe should’ve gone to Beast. I like JYJ, but it wasn’t a “new” album if you get what I’m saying. They filled it with songs from from their previous mini-album and I get annoyed when artists/companies do that. Beast’s album was very good. This is the first time I liked every.. single.. song.. from an album. DBSK almost got me with Mirotic, but then there was that horror called Rainbow. Damn Rainbow.

Best artist? This one is wholly subjective. Everybody has their own opinions. I chose JYJ because of Junsu.. who is a very good artist. And Jaejoong. I’m iffy about Yoochun.. never really liked the guy.

I really can’t say much about actors or actresses or even dramas because I don’t watch enough of them, but Jaejoong and Protect the Boss won out of popularity. As much as I like Jaejoong, he’s pretty good for a singer-idol-turned-actor (much better than the rest anyway.. *ahem* Kim Hyung Joon, please stop acting), but he is NOT the best.
I did watch the beginning of Protect the Boss (maybe I’ll finish it over winter break). It was pretty funny from what I’ve seen, but not enough to make a decision.. not to mention that I haven’t seen the rest.

the thing is, when some people complain about jaejoong winning a (fun, trendy, romcom-biased, and it looks like the one in charge of listing nominees hasn’t watched many sageuk) best actor poll, they mentioned lee minho. wth?! of all actors, lee minho?! heh. when they mention choi minsoo or kim youngchul, i’ll take those comments seriously. either way, the poll is a fun poll.

but i agree, SB should separate idol-actor or idol-actress for a better judgement and better appreciation towards rookie acting-dol. especially with some idol-actress doing actual acting this year. SB is after all a KPOP site, right?

I am a JYJ fan, but I also don’t agree with the results of some certain polls in which JYJ won. However, a poll is just a poll – it’s supposed to be biased. Further, considering that these are Seoulbeats polls, I personally consider winning them rather meaningless. Thus there is no reason to be so pressed about any of this. ^^
