Welcome to another edition of SB Week in Review. Here’s all the news you might have missed over the past week:

Headlines

  • Singer Wheesung was found unresponsive in his apartment on March 10 and later pronounced dead. Our deepest condolences to his family and fans.
  • The far-right YouTube account Hoverlab came forward with allegations that actor Kim Soo-hyun had been in a relationship with the late actor Kim Sae-ron when she was minor, their relationship beginning when she was 15 and he was 27. The relationship allegedly lasted seven years from 2015-2022.
    • Kim Sae-ron was found dead in her apartment on February 16. She was 24 years old. Kim Soo-hyun, through both actors’ agency Gold Medalist, had repeatedly denied any romantic relationship between them since March 2024, after the late actor uploaded a now-deleted photo of them together.
    • Gold Medalist initially said they would respond to the accusations in the coming week, but as photos and letters were released alongside family statements, the company issued a press release Friday. In it they confirmed that the actors had dated, but claimed the relationship began once she was a legal adult.
      • They also denied any involvement of Kim Soo-hyun in the certified letter sent to Kim Sae-ron regarding her debt to their once-shared management company.
    • Hoverlab has continued to release images of the couple, and the family has also issued a demand for an apology from the actor.
