I grew up in a frozen tundra (aka Minnesota, USA). Based on survival instinct alone, I should have developed a deep dislike of winter. Instead, I kind of love it. The hallmarks of winter fill my cold little heart with joy: snow, big cups of warm beverages, cozy days curled up in a blanket with a good book, ice skating, and yes, even the bracing bite of winter wind when you take your first steps outside on a cold day.
Consequently, I love a good winter-coded song. This playlist is filled with them, some explicitly winter-themed and others made so by their mood, their MV visuals, because I say so (gut feeling!), or some combination thereof. Even if winter isn’t your cup of tea, I hope you can enjoy the cozy, adventurous, and ever so slightly melancholy energy that makes winter my kind of season.
