Welcome back to another instalment of For Your Viewing Pleasure, where we take time out of the week to curate a set of photos from the K-pop landscape.

The gaze is a powerful thing. But sometimes, it’s even more powerful to pull that gaze away from the viewer. Questions arise: What are they looking at? What are they thinking about? Maybe they’re in their own world, like Hongjoong, Seonghwa, and Yunho from Ateez in their pictorial with GQ. The captain of the eight-member crew dances with little abandon, as Seonghwa and Yunho, in the background, are caught in the energy, too.

Le Sserafim and Jung Ho-yeon also bring a free energy to their respective photos. Clad in a fluffy pink skirt, it’s as if Ho-yeon is looking at another camera, and the one that captured this photo was a behind-the-scenes shot. Meanwhile, the powerhouse K-pop girl group do their own thing among moss-covered rocks: they lounge, hug the rocks, listen to music, judge something outside of the frame (a.k.a. practically everything). But who’s to judge them? They’re all in their own worlds. Wherever they are, it seems like a nice place.
