The cast of the upcoming Kdrama Playful Kiss appeared on the august 6th episode of MBC’s Section TV. Some of the extended cast and the three lead actors Kim Hyun Joong, Jung So Min, and Lee Tae Sung were caught up with at their drama poster photoshoot for the interview.
In the interview, the three leads appear to have good chemistry although So Min is still calling Hyun Joong ‘sunbae’ because he didn’t tell her she could drop the honorifics (and he still didn’t in the interview) while she calls Tae Sung ‘oppa.’ Hyun Joong also said that since he’s playing a high school student, he’s been really conscientious of his facial hair and has been shaving three times a day. When I first saw Tae Sung in the pics and vid of the interview I thought to myself “Is this a remake of Grease?” or ” is he supposed to be a yankee?” (if you watch Jdoramas, you know what I mean). I think they kind of went over the top for Tae Sung’s styling, but Hyun Joong and So Min look pretty good.
You can check out the interview here (sorry, no English subs).
Hyun Joong, being Hyun Joong shocked everyone when he described his character as ‘hopeless’ and said that he would make September a ‘hopeless’ month. MBC’s Playful Kiss, which is Korea’s adaptation of the popular Japanese Manga Itazura Na Kiss, will be a Wednesday/Thursday drama that begins on September 1st. It faces some stiff competition in the ratings race as it is up against KBS’ popular Baker King Kim Tak Gu which is about half through its run and SBS’ My Girlfriend is a Gumiho which debuts this Wednesday.
