Welcome back to Best of Weekly Music Shows! There were quite a few high-profile comebacks this week, ranging from Nam Woo-hyun with Second Write to NCT Dream with We Go Up to Sunmi with Warning to Oh!GG with Lil’ Touch. Music show wins were split between (G)I-dle’s “Hann” and BTS’ “Idol”, with the former taking victory on Mnet M Countdown and SBS The Show, and the latter on KBS Music Bank, MBC Show Champion, and SBS Inkigayo.

Jimin Park’s “April Fools”, KBS Music Bank, September 07, 2018
Simply put, Jimin stuns on stage for “April Fools”. Her strong, powerful vocals work perfectly with the dark, moody set and the sassy and sultry choreography. This new release has been a long time coming, so it’s great to see Jimin back up on the stage doing what she loves!
Sunmi’s “Siren”, Mnet M Countdown, September 06, 2018
A veteran of the stage, Sunmi rarely disappoints on stage, and this performance of her latest release “Siren” is no exception. With so many professional backup dancers, it can be all too easy to blend into the background, but she definitely stands out not just with the great styling but also with her unique stage charisma.

Nam Woo-hyun’s “If Only You Are Fine”, KBS Music Bank, September 07, 2018
Stages for ballads can be less exciting to watch simply because there’s less going on, but in this case, the stripped-down stage for “If Only You Are Fine” works because it allows Woo-hyun’s vocals to shine.

NCT Dream’s “We Go Up”, KBS Music Bank, September 07, 2018
It’s been interesting to watch NCT Dream grow up right before our very eyes; their discography, for the most part, matches well with their growth — from more fun and lively tracks to stronger songs like “We Go Up”. Styling aside (and this stage actually features some of the better outfits of the week), this is a powerful performance that will be sure to appeal to all audiences.
