Best of Weekly Music Shows is here again! Of course, this segment isn’t the only one to return this week. BtoB and Minseo both had lively comebacks. Kim Dong Han also made his debut as a soloist after being part of JBJ. It’s great to see familiar and fresh faces appearing every week. You get to fall in love again with old loves while being exposed to new faves.

Shinee got a perfect score and the win for “I Want You” on Mnet M! Countdown. Wanna One took home more trophies from KBS Music Bank and MBC Show Champion. Black Pink were victorious on MBC Show! Music Core and SBS Inkigayo. Congrats to everyone!

This week was another entertaining one. Everyone is putting out bright and fun tunes for our summer playlists. I could only select a few of my favorite performances, but of course, readers are welcomed to share your lists in the comments.

Minseo’s “Is Who”, Mnet M! Countdown, June 21, 2018

The pairing of this quirky melody with an equally appealing routine was a breath of fresh air. It’s a jovial song that puts a smile on my face. It’s been a while since I’ve heard this genre, so I’m glad Minseo embraced it for her comeback. There’s an ease in her presence that boosts the overall appeal of this stage.

Kim Dong Han’s “Sunset”,

I never followed JBJ, so I know nothing about Kim Dong Han other than he is super fine. After watching this performance, I may need to do more research. He has quite the stage presence and knows how to give a captivating stare into the camera. It doesn’t hurt that the song is pretty good, too.

24K‘s “Bonnie N Clyde”, MBC Show Champion, June 20, 2018

Now that the group is no longer blacklisted, we reap the benefits. We get to see how solid their dancing is. This is the energy of a potentially powerful group. If you watch some of these idols, you can get a sense of how much they love to sing. It’s clear that 24K enjoys being the center of attention.

fromis_9‘s “DKDK”, MBC Show Champion, June 20, 2018

This is another group of solid performers. The advantage of larger groups is seeing how many different formations they can do. It’s almost like watching cheerleaders without their pom poms. Their winsome charms are seen through their smiles and bubbly energy.

BtoB’s “Only One for Me”, SBS Inkigayo, June 24, 2018

My favorite vocalists are back! What is there not to love about BtoB? They’re talented, funny, and have great chemistry together. There’s been a small influx of retro styles, and I like the ’80s theme of this stage. They look dressed for prom, but I wouldn’t be mad if they were my dates. If you’re going to an event like that, why not invite a group you know will create and have a good time?

Readers, what did you enjoy from the past week?
