Welcome back, readers, to the Best of Weekly Music Shows. This week was fairly busy in spite of the upcoming holidays, with the debut of new girl group GirlsGirls as well as the comebacks of no less than EXO, Lovelyz, Halo, and Huh Gak. M!Countdown did not air this week, and BTS was the big winner with “Run” taking first place on Music Bank, The Show, and Show Champion. However, PSY managed to snatch the trophy on Inkigayo with “Daddy.” These are my favorite performances from this week.

B.A.P‘s “Young, Wild And Free,” MBC Show! Music Core, December 12, 2015

There are not words in the English language to express how fantastic it is to see B.A.P on the stage again. They are masters of performance, and those skills have clearly not gone anywhere. Everything about “Young, Wild and Free” just hits you right in the face; the pent-up frustration, the casual arrogance that comes pouring off them in waves. Of course, can it really be considered arrogance when you are that phenomenal on the stage?

MyB‘s “Ddoddo,” KBS Music Bank, December 11, 2015

Rookie group MyB have a lot going for them, but this performance of “Ddoddo” nails their greatest strength right on the head: they have energy. Each movement is sharp and crisp, but every member practically vibrates with each step, restraining herself to keep from flailing, but in no way dialing back. Add in the sheer exhilarating bounciness of “Ddoddo” and you get a performance that is just fun.

EXID‘s “Hot Pink,” MBC Show Champion, December 9, 2015

There is something to be said for the low-key jam. Sure, I love energy in music as much as the next girl, but sometimes you want a song that requires nothing more than nodding along and maybe some hip movements, and “Hot Pink” is one of them. But damn, does EXID not take that as an excuse to slack off. They dominate that stage with pure presence, encompassing more sass in one hip pop than most ladies have in their whole damn bodies.

Royal Pirates‘ “Run Away,” SBS MTV The Show, December 8, 2015

Royal Pirates never fail to put on a good show, and “Run Away” is certainly no exception. They play with such passion that it borders on desperation, especially when paired with Moon‘s pain-ridden vocals. But it’s the instrumental breakdown that just kills “Run Away.” They just get so lost in the music and the moment, letting it take over, and it’s stunning to watch. And, of course, they can’t help but drag us down with them.

9Muses‘ “Sleepless Night,” SBS Inkigayo, December 13, 2015

If I had to pick one word to sum up “Sleepless Night,” I would say ethereal. Not just the vocals, but in the performances, too. The grace and fluidity that 9Muses shows onstage is breathtaking, accenting the airier vocals perfectly, building up the whole vibe of the stage into a cohesion of elegance and vulnerability that a) never ceases to grab their audience and b) is a lot harder than it looks.

Any stages you think I missed, readers? Leave them in the comments!
