Love is in the air as we anticipate the day of love this week, but was there much to love in K-pop last week?  Miryo and Sunny‘s duet was released, Dream High 2‘s Ailee released her debut song, rookies Spica played a round of Russian Roulette, Yoo Seung-ho began an Operation Proposal, Seohyun didn’t say no to a duet with Yoon Gun, and the King might have to share his royal parts with the Queen in The Moon that Embraces the Sun (eeewwww, don’t do it!).  These are the 5 Things that happened in K-pop this week that I think were little bit more special than the rest.

5.  Jang Jae-in Wants None Other

I’ve been a fan of Jang Jae-in since her appearance as a contestant on Superstar K2 because I loved her unique style and voice. I’m glad her management company, Kiwi Music, is letting her keep her offbeat style and I like her with long hair. LOVE her new song “None Other Than You” which was written for her by the LoveholicsKang Hyun-min.

4. The Voice Judges Magical

The judges of Korea’s version of the hit show The Voice got the show off to a magical start with their remix of Secret‘s “Magic.” Gotta admit Baek Ji-young, Gil from LeeSsang, Kangta, and Shin Seung-hoon did an awesome job although I did miss the “mazzic” and the shimmying during the chorus–come on judges you should’ve shook your moneymakers.

3. Taking it Day by Day on K-pop Star

It must’ve felt like the worst thing that could have happened in the Top 10 selection round for Baek Ah-yeon (one of my faves from the beginning)–to be matched up against Lee Michelle, one of the show’s strongest competitors. But Ah-yeon settled down and just sang her song, a remix of Big Bang‘s hit song “Haru Haru,” and on this day Ah-yeon was able to beat Lee Michelle who had left the door open due to some mistakes in her performance .

2. Sung-yeol and Sung-jong a Pair of Troublemakers

Sung-yeol and Sung-jong are probably my two fave INFINITE boys and seeing their parody of Hyuna and Hyun-seung‘s “Troublmaker” just about made my week.

1. Alive and Well

On February 6th,  YG Entertainment announced that Big Bang will be venturing forth with their first world tour in 2012, the Alive World Tour as part of the promotions for their new album set to drop on February 29th.  The tour will hit 16 countries and 25 cities in Asia, Europe, North America and South America.  They’re going big time for the concerts working with Live Nation and director Laurieanne Gibson, who also directed Lady Gaga‘s The Monster Ball Tour.  Fans had been hoping for a world tour from Big Bang and with their current rise in fame internationally it only seemed like a matter of time.  The news of K-pop acts and their world tours are making headlines as it is a testament to the rising popularity of K-pop around the world. Needless to say, but where they might end up along the way in North America–I’ll be there.

Those were the 5 Things I loved in K-pop this week, were they yours?
