2PM has been moderately active in Japan for the past few months, and is set for a formal Japanese debut on May 18th with their first Japanese single, “Take Off.” A K-pop group debuting in Japan with an original song? Say it ain’t so!

The B-side track will be a Japanese version of “Heartbeat,” which was performed for the first time at a recent event:

To be honest, I couldn’t really tell that they were singing in Japanese, but that’s probably largely attributed to the low quality of the recording. But Taec‘s English rap…daaaang, son. After hearing that, I really wouldn’t mind it if they released an English version of this song. In which Nichkhun‘s loltastic “Sunday, Monday” line would be nixed, of course.
