Ever since 2009, YG Entertainment has been giving back to society in order to repay all the love received by fans.

In fact, the company had started a community public service campaign in 2009, called “WITH”, which managed to raise a total of approximately $141, 000 USD in one year. This year, YGE was able to successfully raise an even larger amount of $160, 000 USD in total.

YG was able to donate about $20, 000 USD more than last year due to the promotions of its active artistes, including 2NE1, Se7en, Gummy, Taeyang, Goo Hye-sun, Jung Hye-young, Yoo In-na and Kang Hye-jung. This amount was raised through the collection of 100 won per album, 1% of product merchandise sales, and 1,000 won for every concert ticket sold.

The company reportedly donated $87, 000 USD towards a scholarship with Holt Children’s Services, as well as an additional $69, 000 USD to help children with rare diseases. YG employees also personally delivered $4, 400 USD worth of charcoal to families in need of love and warmth during the cold winter.

A rep. from YG said, “Although this might not be a very big contribution, we hope that it can be a hope for someone else and keep them warm during winter…the fans’ love are worth more than the amount. We want to love and share more as YG family.”

It’s always nice to see some acts of kindness in the world, especially from the entertainment industry where it can influence the masses. Hopefully this will inspire more people to do their part for charity as well!
