Park Chan-wook, of Oldboy fame, may be in the talks of directing his first English-language film.

The LA Times is saying that sources close to the director are saying that he’s considering directing “Stoker,” a film penned by Wentworth Miller.

The film is set to be produced by Ridley Scott and developed by Fox Searchlight. There doesn’t seem to be much information on what exactly the story is about, but Carey Mulligan and Jodie Foster are said to have been cast as the female leads.

This could be great news for fans of Asian cinema who’ve felt that Hollywood don’t have enough Asian representation, whether in front of the camera or behind. If it turns out to be true, rejoice! “Stoker” sounds like it has the potential to be a great project.
