(Singapore!)

I got into K-pop in late 06 when I picked up a version C edition of DBSK’s “O – Jung Ban Hap” at a CD store. I was never one to experiment anything Asian other than C-pop but I got really curious about what lay inside the box. (And yes, I was a crazy fangirl for a bit but that was the first and last time haha). At around the same time my friend introduced me to one of the most creative variety show games (ever!) “Dangyunhaji” and I scoured Youtube for all relating videos which eventually led to my constant need to understand the intricacies of Korean society and K-pop.

All this online immersion led me to discover some of the best music, fashion and whatnot there is to know. It’s just so much more interesting (sometimes stimulating) than other popular cultures. More plasticated but definitely with less incessant bitching and gossiping that spiral out of control. For one, it encouraged my deadly obsession with collecting Vogue Girl Korea and other Korean mags with yummy editorials – on top of all the others I’d been collecting previously. And with that, I officially turned me into a “scrap paper” magnate. I was also experiencing a massive fashion overhaul at the same time in Melbourne and it’s actually helped me develop my own style, which = a lot of shopping. K-pop has been the contributing factor to all these bad habits but I still love it!

Just constructive criticism here. I think you need to be less biased in your reports along with the other seoulbeat writer i’lldielaughing.
Before you write something, it wouldn’t hurt if you’d do some proper research regarding the celebrity topic, instead of just writing anything just so you have something to submit.
Another advice would be to tone it down a bit with the excessive celebrity bash post. You tend to particularly have your claws out for female celebrities and go really easy on the male celebs.
I think a writer should put their personal dislikes aside and should be more fair in their writing.

^baah. who cares. do as u please. rock on, babe!

  3. Starseed says:

^ I second what cyn said, haha. I, for one, like the personality shown in the articles here. If, havannah wants directly translated facts presented in a more boring manner, I suggest the K Bites blog.

  4. jamie says:

@ havannah: she doesn’t need your advice!!! if u don’t like what they put out here, don’t read their stuff! plain n simple!!! no one is forcing u to check their site!!! it’s their blog for crying out loud, so they can do whatever they please here!!!

  5. Rin says:

Chill guys, havannah did say “constructive criticism” she’s not out to get pinkranger or anything.
But since this is a blog thing which I think the girls are doing for fun, they can imput whatever thoughts they want in their articles and of course the readers will know it’s their opinions.

  6. oh who cares??? don’t read it if you don’t like it…a writer has every right to write about whatever he or she wants..

  7. lalal54 says:

    this person sucks.
    seoul beat sucks.
your articles have no background support whatsoever.
you guys are like mainly supporting SM entertainment.
JEESSSSSSH JUST BECOME TVXQ FANSITE WHY DONT YA….

  8. Kaayla says:

lalal54 is a hater. Pinkranger, all of Seoulbeats pay no mind to that person for he or she is just hating on you because they aren’t as awesome as you guys.

“your articles have no background support whatsoever.” blah blah blah!

While they are getting interviews with Brian, Epik High, Pumashock, and others you go ahead and find some background support in other websites while they meet celebs face to face ok?? ^.^

All of the information being stated is from somewhere mostly likely other resourceful sites and the media..mmmmm I don’t know like the korean news???? But Seoulbeats writers are only stating their personal opinion so whether or not you agree and disagree is entirely
up to the readers. There is no need to be so ugly to them.

So Lalal54 go sit in a corner you big baby and get off Seoulbeats and Pinkranger’s back!

  9. Em says:

    @ Kaayla

    second that!

  10. Bridget says:

Nah, though the bashes can get kinda mean, they’re funny and horribly entertaining. Sometimes I read just for the hilarious comments, even when it comes to my favorite artists. I just laugh it off.

  11. Hello Ms. Pink Ranger,

Here’s a tip: Please check out Dollar Van Demos, a new music video showcase featuring performers inside a dollar van (a type of share ride) with real passengers on the streets of Brooklyn NYC. It’s fresh unpredictable fun–a genre we like to call ‘musical reality’. We’ve mainly presented acts in the hip hop/rap/reggae genres but we strive to feature all kinds of music. We just added a new video by the Misnomer(s) featuring Knewdles & SoS, a Korean-American sister act who perform their fierce joint ‘WooHoo’–please tell us what you think, ok?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTzxW0J1mnc

We welcome any feedback you may have. More videos every week–straight outta Brooklyn! And by all means let us know about any talented performers who could be interested in appearing on our show if they’re in NYC anytime soon. And of course, any of these performers would be delighted to conduct interviews with you too.

    Thank you most kindly,
    DOLLAR VAN DEMOS
