It’s time for another round of Best of Weekly Music Shows! We’re approaching that time of year when we get comebacks aplenty, which just makes me excited for what’s to come! Up10tion, April, Got7, and NCT 127 returned with new music to delight fans. Also, Oppa Ddal join the growing list of idol bands with their debut. Most shows aired at their usual time, but KBS Music Bank was cancelled due to the 2018 Pyeongchang Paralympics. Best of luck to the athletes competing!

Mamamoo were big winners on Mnet M! Countdown, MBC Show Champion, KBS Music Bank, and SBS The Show and Inkigayo. Wanna One gained a trophy for “I.P.U.” on MBC Show! Music Core as well.

I selected a handful of my favorite performances from the past week to share with readers. As always, you may share your favorites in the comments.

Oppa Ddal’s “SalLangSalLang”, Mnet M! Countdown, March 13, 2018

Debuts like these give me life because I discover a potential new fave. Cuteness is my weakness, so choosing this group’s stage was a given. The song is very light and airy; it makes me think of cherry blossom petals falling. It’s a shame that Mnet didn’t tag their lyrics with their names to help learn about them, and sadly, googling that info didn’t turn up much either. Maybe I’ll figure them out next week.

Got7’s “Look”, MBC Show! Music Core, March 17, 2018

Got7 possess this magnetic appeal that makes it impossible not to watch them. The way this was filmed and edited enhanced their electrifying moves. For some odd reason I’m getting deja vu with their outfits, but they look good regardless. The best part of the choreo has to be the quick footwork seen during the chorus. It’s hypnotic.

Mamamoo’s “Starry Night”, MBC Show Champion, March 14, 2018

From the beginning, with the hip swaying and snapping, I was drawn to this performance. Perhaps it’s the boost of confidence from winning that has the ladies pouring extra charm on stage. The camera caught the members at flattering angles, and Mamamoo sounded flawless as expected. They’re on my wish list of performers for Kcon because I need to hear them live, just once.

NCT 127’s “Touch”, MBC Show Champion, March 14, 2018

Clean, sharp, and consistent are words I’d use to describe NCT 127 to a non-fan. I like the shirt and jeans combo that brings out the fluffy side of this performance. The pastel-colored stage matches their bright, cheerful vibe. Even though, they look like perfect angels, I still have trust issues with that demon named Taeyong. Refer to last week’s Best of Weekly Music Show post if you need clarification about him. Just stating a fact; he’s sinfully fine.

Paradise‘s “Again”, MBC Show Champion, March 14, 2018

This performance was truly a blessing for my ears. The reason I keep hammering the point of checking out different artists is for moments like this. This stage was a glorious gospel filled with heavenly harmonies. I really felt like I was in church listening to them. I consider myself blessed for coming across this group.
