Hello everyone, and welcome back to another edition of The SB Mixtape!

Since it’s Spring in the North, Korean music acts are busy putting out season-appropriate music. Fiestar’s Cao Lu, for example, is on top of her game with “Spring Again,” featuring G-Friend’s Yerin and rapper Kisum, and you can expect the usual suspects to shoot up the charts and be recommended as essential listening.

But if you, like me, have tired of “Cherry Blossom Ending” and “Bom Bom Bom” — even momentarily — then this playlist is for you. Eschewing the expected choices for such a playlist (well, except for BTS‘ “Spring Day,” Ga-in‘s “Bloom,” and AkMu‘s Play), this mixtape features songs that feel appropriate for spring but go beyond the usual soundscape, from the slightly creepy (f(x)‘s “Shadow”), to the flirty (Ga-in’s “Apple” and Shinee‘s “Excuse Me Miss”), to the wistful (Ailee‘s “Reminiscing”) and, yes, even the adorably sweet (SNSD‘s “Romantic St.” ).
