I get that digital is The Way to Go for K-pop, but Inki dropping digital sales is gonna kill the little the K-pop industry already had with physical. The industry is ruining things for themselves, really. And say goodbye to basically all SM artists (except f(x)!) ever winning Inki again.

well if SNSD has another comeback this year, they will win.

      i’m sure.
and for those boygroups in SM, since they have a huge fanbases, i’m sure they will do anything to get their fave win..
but I got your point since SM doing better in physical.. so it may be though for them.

I really doubt that SNSD will have another Korean comeback this year. SM has taken to a more yearly comeback system with their artists because their roaster is so big. Which is probably a good thing, as some of their groups would certainly overshadow others and they only have to keep control at a time.

But yeah, SM really did well in physical sales. I am more of a digital owner though because it is significantly cheaper, but not good for the fangirl/fanboy heart.

but Shinee actually to have 2 comebacks this year..

so i’m sure SM didn’t change about 1 comeback/year only system..
          theres still hopes…

They had “Dream Girl” and then their is their second part of the album that could have an comeback stage. Unless you are counting “Fire”, but they aren’t with SM in Japan.

Honestly with all the politics that go into the ranking systems , I put very little value in who wins them , even if the winner is an artist I like. Also SM will have MuBank in the bag especially with SM C&C merging with the production company that produces MuBank. With them putting more emphasis on the digital, maybe just maybe subunits and newer groups will have a chance on winning something.

Plus with all the power SMent has in K-ent why does it matter if their groups win anything.

      huh? why not f(x)?

f(x) has really good digital sales, I believe.

50 percent of the ranking is still essentially fan-run. With “twitter mentions” being included and 20% actually being voting.

I am really liking “expectation” by girls day, i think these girls have some solid vocal talent in the group that just never showed in their cutesy material. Also the song is a really good dance song with a great beat.

“Ooops” is such a flirty and fun song although its more of a duet when you think about it. It’s also refreshing to hear a singer use their softer vocal tones and not scream off the top of their lungs for once.

I really enjoyed Lee Hi’s performance – it’s fun, quirky and a lot more entertaining than your usual standard K-pop affair. But I still can’t help but feel she’s awkward on stage – she’s improved a lot since her official debut but when I watch her all I can think is that she’s probably spent hours rehearsing in front of a mirror and so that makes her even more awkward to watch. That’s not to say that other performers don’t (they most definitely do) but they come across as being ‘in-the-moment’ more instead of ‘going-through-the-motions’ in a robotic way like Lee Hi. I really like her and enjoy the performance but I just wish she’d loosen up a bit on stage and put herself into the song more.
