Lee Young-ae is Queenly for Elle Korea
Beautiful actress Lee Young-ae is well known for her past roles in various K-dramas and movies, including her Seo Jang-geum role in the mega-hit drama Dae Jang Geum, as well as her noted role in Sympathy for Lady Vengeance. Her longtime popularity has led her to becoming the spokeswoman to several brands, as well as a Goodwill Ambassador position for UNICEF and and NGO. Though she hasn’t been in the spotlight for a while due to raising her two children, Lee Young-ae is still looking as beautiful as ever in her latest shoot for Elle Korea.
This photo shoot has a more modern look to it, with Young-ae standing against a white wall in striking black clothing, and her rolling around in sheets. For many of the photos, the contrast between colors is very sharp and bright. Aside from that, Young-ae’s appearance in this shoot is far more disheveled than you’d expect. Young-ae’s dress in the first photo reminds me of paper mache, or wings, which goes rather nicely with her vulnerable expression. Her pleading look directed at the camera really sells this photo.
Wearing black again in the next two photos, Young-ae wears long, loose slacks and long-sleeved shirt in the first and an elegant evening gown in the second. In the first photo, Young-ae looks entirely stiff, as if she’s afraid to show bad posture. In the second picture, she looks confident and sexy. Everything about her gives off the impression of seriousness, but she has the ability to combine sexiness with a sense of authority.
While people normally picture photo shoots has having perfectly styled and put-together celebrities, Young-ae poses in every picture with messy, undone hair. I can’t say I like her outfits in this, finding them boring, but I can see their use of making the photo shoot look more clean cut.
