Yeah, this website isnt biased at all …

Posting links to Omona to Jenny Hyun’s racist rant is perfectly fine with me because it is news.  I am all for spreading ALL THE NEWS about kpop because the open and honest dialogue about what we ‘love’ is good

Just wondering how certain news gets posted on here by the writers and some dont?  Why criticisms against some music acts/companies are mentioned all the time but criticisms against others are virtually ignored?

    What exactly is the criteria?

For example, recent videos was uncovered of JYJ’s Yoochun (or when he was still on DBSK back then) in 2009 physically beating a girl.  In many of those vids it can seen that Yoochun himself (and not a manager or an employee) grabbed a girls hair, hit her in the head with multiple punches, and after finishing he slapped her.  The fact that some JYJ-stans (and DBSK-stans) tried to ‘hide’ this tells you more about some of thier disgusting fanbase than anything else.

So why the silence on SB?  I guess to SB and its BIASED writers :

    Racism > Physical violence ???  I guess so …

It´s the first time I heard the name “Jenny Hyun” and I read this page every week. So of course it needs some more info about the person. Just because she happens to be SM´s songwriter who wrote song for those two groups doesn´t mean the article is biased. I don´t really get your “overheated” reaction.

Because this is an open forum and I just chose to pick that particular piece of news for the heck of it. And for anyone else wondering, we’re planning on putting out posts on the Yoochun incident, so don’t you worry.

Oh and, the writers and readers have tolerated you for long enough. Bye.

  • eboy07

I was just watching SNSD The Boys.
     I hit the dislike button.

What is the link between JYJ and that racist?!!!
I don’t even listen to JYJ so I am going to ignore you terrible comparison and go straight to the matter in hand: your 9 “muses” have a bitchy racist as a songwriter!!!!
When we all know that there are also “black people” listening to SNSD songs, I really want to say: WHAT THE HELL?!
So yes, SB writers are biased but how many times did someone already explained to you that: OBVIOUSLY they are biased because those writers also give their opinions!!
You don’t like that website, don’t read it, don’t think about it. Period.

Racism is bad and should be pointed out. Especially in that specific context: global hallyu wave!
I hope that I am never going to hear about that racist again (SM, either you fire her or any new song from SNSD is going straight to the trashcan for me!).

And I was talking to you “Ghdksd”!!!
Seriously, you really have to get or buy a life. Everything related to SNSD makes you get out from you hole and type like crazy about bad people writing mean things about your nine angels. Jesus.
Yeah, we are born to hate on SNSD…-> that’s irony for you.

    I´m kind of speechless…. WTH

Anyway I don´t see anything wrong with posting the link. I´m glad I was informed about this and I have no idea what this news has to do with some other incidents. Seoulbeats.com or any other web page cannot cover every news out there.

  • Daydream

What the….I can’t believe what I just read. Why anyone in their right mind would post something like that online for the world to see? I’m not completely buying it as a retaliation to that boxer dude’s Jeremy Lin rant, but if it was…then that’s just really really stupid. Talk about social suicide.
On another note, Caravan Palace, where have you been all my life?

ESPN is also getting heat for the tagline saying a CHINK IN LIN’S ARMOR and Mayweather is just a bonehead plain and simple.
Jenny needs to take a back seat and reevaluate her bigot self.

In other news Miss A released touch and I’m loving it, brownie points for JYP not interjecting his name which is a freakin miracle.

Didn’t you hear the JYP bit?? The P goes on for longer this time >_<

          • http://twitter.com/Laava90 Lava

Oh I heard about the Yoochun thing, apparently he hit a fan as far as I know? I don’t have a link or anything about if, maybe somebody else will elaborate or something? Otherwise maybe if you google it?

          • Anonymous

omg Im dieing!! Can someone give me the link of this yoochun incident because I have no idea what anyone is talking about when referring to it.

      • Johnny

        Touch sucks though

        • http://twitter.com/Laava90 Lava

I wasn’t that into it either, I had really high expectations and the mv looks really nice, but the song really isn’t all that =/

        • Anonymous

First listen I wasn’t to sure and the moves were definitely different from what I’m used to seeing it, it reminds me of one of those stop and go animation for some reason. The song is slower than compared to the past songs debuts they had but for reason I still like it. Aesthetically it is pleasing to my ears, maybe my opinion will change once I understand once I actually know what the words mean.

I’m glad Seoulbeats decided to put that up about that Jenny Hyun. She’s nuts.

Have you looooonnnnggg for a weekend, and when it comes you just feel too tired to do anything? This is one of them. It’s raining so hard and the mood really matches the grey.

Just watching ‘City Hunter’ (ep 3 & 4), ‘Wild Romance’ (ep 7) and missed ‘Brain’ so much.
Any other K-drama SB (writers & guests) would like to recommend? Oh, I don’t really watch Historical drama. Last time I watched ‘Princess’ Man’, here & there – not the whole episodes. Yes, the casts were superb, but I rather watch the present dramas.

    Watching several music shows.
X-5 consist of several hot and beautifully sculpted face & body boys. Why can’t I fall in love with them? Their performance isn’t bad either. So? (a mystery to me).

Racist? And I thought we living in 21st century…
Wow… I switch right away to ‘Dog Whisperer’…. Sometimes I think his phrase is true, It’s people who should be trained to be more humane.

    hehehe…
Sorry for the rambling, and thank you for listening.

    • http://twitter.com/missyu8shi Yushi Wang

X-5′s debut song “Don’t Put on a Act” was a really really good debut song in my opinon. Then they just went down hill…I wish they would’ve continued that dark and moody theme. >  <

    • http://twitter.com/Laava90 Lava

You have to watch Shut Up Flower Boy Band, it’s so awesome, I fell in love in the first 15 mins, and the characters have a lot more depth than in most dramas and some stuff is quite unexpected, I’m really loving it so far ^__^
As for older dramas that I never watched before but am watching now, I’ve been watching Lie To Me, the last few days, finally, and it’s really good and fun if you want to watch something simple and entertaining, but still interesting ^_^

Hey guys, so I clicked on the 2nd link and it lead me to ONTD.
I used to go on ONTD all the time, and….then my computer crashed. This might sound really retarded, but do you guys think ONTD have viruses that might have caused it? Honestly, I LOVE that site….it’s not the most pleasant place but all the wankfest pretty much make my day. I just wanna be sure. (Yeah, IDK what I’m asking but I just wanna throw that out there…) k, any comments would be appreciated.

I guess Amy is the ‘editor’ (or one of the ‘editors’) of SB since Elle left day-to-day operations.  For somebody who talks about this being an ‘OPEN’ forum and the fact that SB is basically an OP-ED kpop website now, you sure do have a very thin skin for valid criticism for your shoddy journalism.

I guess criticism is ONLY reserved for (SOME) kpop artists and not the writers on this website.

So instead of addressing my issues with your articles, you ban me.  As if I cant sign up for new account if you ban one account or use proxies if you try to IP-ban me.  So why waste my time and yours, what exactly is the point?

Never have I done anything vulgar or personally attacked anybody (until personally attacked first).  I dont post links to pornographic websites  (as your writers have), I dont post falsehoods, and I always try to support my positions with facts (something which your writers dont do).  As an ‘editor’, arent you reponsible for your writers who so the following :

    1) Write articles with no facts
    2) Write articles with incorrect facts
    3) Use their opinions as reality instead of what actually is happening
    4) Have no knowledge of the Korean music industry
    5) Have no knowledge of the Korean music charts
    6) etc etc etc …

In the end of the day, it is your website and you are the KING/QUEEN and you rule your little fiefdom (SEOULBEATS) with the iron hand.  But dont lie to yourself that this is an “OPEN” forum if you cant take criticism for your writing standards.

It’s because no one appreciates your endless tirades. It was amusing for like a day. Don’t you feel a little embarrassed when multiple people ask you to leave and then you because they think you’re crazy. Have some pride and just leave gracefully.

    • Lolo

Just start a blog of your own and u can posts as much facts about SNSD and diss others

  • http://twitter.com/missyu8shi Yushi Wang

This morning had the sudden urge of wanting to read Ouran High School Hostclub,…no idea why. Also I’m planning to marathon Iljimae, then Hong Gil Dong, then Return of Iljimae (two iljimae’s in a row is too much!) and see which one I like best!

  • K!

Trying to finish work while listening to miss A. Sometimes I wonder what’s more addicting, K-Pop and K-dramas or reading about them on Seoulbeats!

  • VeryCuticle

I love that picture of that snowman. Just had to come here and say that.

It’s a slow day for me. I’m very sleepy. Watched miss A’s Touch MV and not sure what to make of it yet. I think that the song underwhelms me but I really appreciate them for being different.

    • Young-Ji Park

fannie — you have to see the drama moon/sun and you’ll love that snowman even more!
did i mention that kim soo hyun is also in this drama?

  • T Hudson

whoah totally lost my train of thought after reading the Jenny Hyun CRAP !!
Anyways… I just finished watching Music Bank in Paris, and I had a few observations. 1) I didn’t even know it was possible for a person to be jealous of a country, but I was. I so wanted to be French for the entire hours I watched it so I could drop everything and fangirl my butt off !!!
    2) On a more serious note lol, I couldn’t help but thinking about how those groups got picked the entire times I was watching. I mean think about the groups that performed, yeah they are all Korea’s “best groups”, but still it did get a little embarrassing to see how the popularity fluctuated from group to group. For example the cheers in SHINee’s performances vs. Sistars. I also coudn’t help but pity all the other really great groups out there who will never get a chance to perform on a stage like that. 2am for example. Yayy they are part of the big three, and ya they are popular, but we all know that  you can’t compare 2am’s popularity with that of their brother group 2pm ! People just aren’t going to freak out over well sung ballad, as much as they will over a flash of Taekyeon’s bare chest ! Especially international fans, who don’t speak Korean, so won’t really grasp the deeper messages many ballad songs have. Is this fair ? NO WAY ! But is it the truth? HECK YES !!
     3) On a lighter note did anyone else think that music bank Paris was a 10000 times better than ALL of the end of they year show ! Or maybe it was just me :D

Can you guys REALLY write a post on this J-Hyun shit? Even though there’s enough on Tumblr, I want to hear your guys’ thoughts on it. I saw a comment today, somebody who said the same thing (for you Seoulcials to write about it), but then a mod (I guess?) replied that you all briefly reported on it on the Sunday Seoulcial. And God, was that REALLY brief.
