Just a couple of members left to recruit to our Perfect Girl Group!

In the previous weeks, you readers have chosen Sunye to be the leader and Taeyeon to be the lead singer.

Last week, you guys voted on who would be the best choice for lead dancer, and the results came out as follows: Minzy came in third with 16.15% of the vote, Victoria came in second with 27.29% of the vote, and Hyoyeon came in first with 38.69% of the vote. Congratulations to Hyoyeon for securing her spot in our group!

This week, we are going to turn our attention towards selecting the best rapper for our perfect girl group. Since most songs in K-pop nowadays come equipped with a rap break in the middle, it is pretty necessary that we get a solid rapper on the team. The rapper of the group is responsible for spitting out powerful verses with a great sense of rhythm, flow, and style. Creativity and the ability to freestyle is also a plus.

I think people here are “underestimating” CL (against Miryo) way too much here that i got tired of hearing, “She’s just an ~idol~ rapper” “Miryo will own her in rap battle” “Miryo is way better” Come on, y’all said it yourselves MIRYO HAD MORE EXPERIENCE. And by that, it means CL HAS ~YET~ TO HAVE MORE EXPERIENCE. She can’t showcase more of her rapping skills (and also penning her raps) for now ~obviously~ because she’s part of 2NE1 and I believe, YG and CL herself is preserving it for the future. YG designated Teddy as the main producer of their songs so isn’t it ~obvious~ that he’ll pen the rap parts for CL? Psh. Good thing, she always delivers! CL said it herself she doesn’t do freestyle raps but who knows maybe she’ll do it in her solo career?

CL – “I want our music to be heard in all parts of the world and I want to do so much more…”

Remember that line from her Osen interview? SHE HAS YET TO DO SO MUCH MORE in the future so don’t just dismiss the ability that she has yet to showcase more by the perfect time. And also remind yourselves “She’s an item, definitely an item” – Teddy said that himself. Let’s just wait and see :) So for y’all who keeps on comparing her to Miryo, it don’t matter to me i think i’d rather listen to Koreans and what they feel about CL as a rapper coz they ~understand~ her rap better than most of you here! Guess who gets compared to the REAL superior rapping skills of Queen T Yoon Mirae? Read.

And i will just quote this:

“However, since she is a member of the group 2NE1, there is an ambiguous boundary placed upon her so there is no choice but to put a question mark next to the questions that are being left behind from talks in regards to the possible level of her rap making ability. Also, her abilities in making hip hop have not yet been shown which means that a full evaluation on CL herself is not yet possible. In other words, she is in a completely different standpoint to someone like G-DRAGON who has already shown his creativity in huge amounts with the release of his solo album. Of course, when looking at rap itself, the rappers currently affiliated with the YG Movement greatly deserve being called top class.”

You read that right, you can’t make full evaluation of CL JUST YET because like i said, there’s no opportunity AS OF NOW since she’s with 2NE1. Give our Leader some time to prove it, and i don’t wanna hear shizz about who’s had more experience and stuff because CL and Miryo are obviously in a different time frame she’s like 30 and CL’s only 21 hello? XD I just know, this girl has a lot to offer so i’ll just anticipate that day when she gets to debut solo. Thanks for reading.

and that’s not really anyone’s problem but cl’s, isn’t it? we can only judge by what we see. cl doesn’t write her own raps and she hasn’t freestyled. we don’t even know if she can freestyle. miryo does both and did it before debut. cl also has mediocre technique, while miryo’s is great. just because miryo doesn’t have international fans to write rabid essays about her greatness, doesn’t mean cl is better. the poll is about the best idol rapper at the moment and that’s miryo.

and the bit about teddy and yg is speculation. gd and top started writing their own raps and composing pre-debut and yg encouraged them and put their songs on bigbang’s very first single. if cl had similar talent, i can also speculate that yg would have done the same. just like you’re speculating that yg is saving it for the future.

I DIDN’T write that to say “CL is BETTER than Miryo”. Nothing in what i wrote said something like that and putting that article about CL doesn’t even have to do with Miryo lol. The whole point of my comment is GIVE CL some time to prove it because she can’t showcase her rap (written by herself) more for now because she’s with 2NE1, (lol not really CL’s problem XD) So i’m asking y’all to stop comparing her to Miryo since she’s from different time frame, she was able to do whatever▬and that she’s more EXPERIENCED, and obviously she’s her SENIOR. Yeah, i said it CL doesn’t freestyle but didn’t i say ~maybe~ she’ll consider doing it in her solo career did you read that?? And i disagree with you that she doesn’t write her own rap (except for 2NE1 stuff, obviously), because when she’s featuring/covering a song she writes her own rap like “The Leaders”, “What” and her cover on Nicki Minaj’s “Did it on ‘em”. Writing lyrics is one of CL and Minzy’s hobbies, too. Like i said, the opportunity has yet to come and i believe by then, they will have freedom writing their own stuff.

Don’t compare CL to their seniors in YG because compared to them YG has not YET allowed freedom to CL or any 2NE1 member to control the production of their songs (although they (Teddy) consult each member when writing the lyrics and how they feel about it). GD&TOP has been with YG for many years and the CEO is still the one who decides for 2NE1′s song production. But do you think YG won’t make them write their own songs? No, it’s just a matter of time, so sit down and wait. He’s definitely saving that in the future. ^^

She’s learning, she’s gaining experience through 2NE1 so yeah, again…and again, i say let’s anticipate the day of CL’s solo debut then you can criticize the writing of her rap and stuff. Thanks.

CL’s rap in “The Leaders”, “Love Is Ouch” and to some extent “In The Club” and “Stay Together”, as well as some of her pre-debut stuff highlights her strengths as the groups lead rapper. Best idol rapper? Yes, I’d pick CL.

Do Miryo’s fans really consider as an idol, though…in the truest sense of the word? I don’t, so I won’t be voting for her as much as I really respect her talent and skill.

I never really like girl rapper in K-pop for some reason; but when i discover the holy grail of what is 2ne1, I just want to rap along with them. Miryo is a good rapper but with any group, it needs a person like CL – her stage present is like- omg good. I hope blackjacks respect the poll and don’t multiple vote because CL is on it.

I actually prefer CL in the group even though Miryo is better but looking at the other selections, Cl fits with in the group better. I hold Miryo on another level and she deserves to be in a better group involving the likes of Tasha, etc.

Yes, there is justice in the world. After coming from the travesty that is the best guy rapper section the girls have redeemed my faith in kpop fandom. I am biased towards CL but will not be angry if Miryo wins because I do believe she is talented.
