The first ever K-Pop dance convention hits the US

10

If you’ve ever wanted to dance to K-pop music with hundreds of other K-pop fans, with Rain’s personal choreographer leading you while you awkwardly learn the steps, and you live in CA, you are one lucky mofo!

The event is K-Pop TaKeover, and it will be held at the Beverly Garland’s Holiday Inn in North Hollywood on June 18 and 19.

The convention brings together recognizable dancers and choreographers of some of the most popular Kpop videos. Movement Lifestyle choreographers Lyle Beniga, Shaun Evaristo, Keone Madrid and Mari Martin will be present and they have of course worked with the YG gang: Taeyang, Big Bang, GDragon, 2NE1 and Se7en.

America’s Best Dance Crew’s fans will also be in the presence of  ABDC’s Poreotics.

So, if you decide to go, you have  plenty of time to plan, and don’t bother telling me about it.

So jealous.

If only I lived in the US!!! despite the fact that i have no dancing ability, i would love to go just because it sounds like so much fun. BTW, I love the B.Girls- talk about talented! And I have just as much love for Simon and Martina, who are simply awesome as well!

Kpop in general is gonna be a niche market in both Europe and US. You cant expect that everybody whill worshipp koreans later. Why am i saying this? its just that if i read articles of kpop relating to Europe and the US they are talking as if the whole majority is aware of kpop now. But this always irks me when those articles especially on allkpop are hyping things. Just like Tayeang that he was a hit in the US itunes and kpop fans where eating it up that his wedding dress whas a hit and that artist like Alicia Keys could look up to him. Its good that kpop has gain an regonition overseas but i cant stand the deluded kpop fans saying kpop is the best music in the world and that Korea has the best culture in order to look down on other countries. I’ve saw some kpop fans saying that they hate their country and calling them close minded if they dont like kpop.

    “The event is ‘K-Pop TaKeover.’”

Of course it would be called that. Because anything and everything related to Hallyu has to be phrased aggressively, like it’s some military force conquering and subduing other nations. XD

*coff* what about britain’s imperialism? or the crusades? or the roman empire’s world conquering?
at least this “hallyu wave” is artistic instead of killing.
