Project Runway Season 3 kicked off today with a press conference.  The show’s host Lee So-ra, often acknowledged as Korea’s first supermodel, talked with reporters about this season’s show which will feature 15  of South Korea’s up-and-coming fashion designers.  Returning as judges are Editor-in-Chief of ELLE Korea Shin Yoo-jin and ANDY & DEBB designer Kim Seok-won (Korea’s Nina and Michael) and fashion design professor Kan Ho-sup returns as the designers’ mentor (the Tim Gunn).  This year’s show also boasts some super star guest judges like Jeremy Scott, Han Go-eun, and 2NE1‘s CL.

Due to the increasing popularity of the show, it’s budget increased significantly from 2.9 billion won to 11 billion won. The cash prize for the winner of season 3 has also increased from 70 million won to 100 million won.  The new season of Project Runway Korea Season 3 will debut on January 29th.  The original Project Runway is one of my fave shows, I wonder if anyone subs the Korean version?  With the passing of Andre Kim last year, I’m sure that Korea is ready to find some fresh new talent in it’s fashion industry.
