Japanese Run Devil Run Previews

I have come to like the original Korean version, but don’t mind a Japanese version being released. It doesn’t sound terrible to me, it’s just “meh” at the moment. I’ll wait until the release of the full version to form an opinion of the remake. I am almost certain Japanese Sones will download the ringtone in droves.

I can’t help but sing the Korean lyrics, when listening to the Japanese remakes :P

lol yeah. I think you, me and even my grandma knows that SNSD arent exactly in Japan to seek musical maturity or the respect of the artists there – rather they are there simply to earn some good money while they are still very much in ‘power’.

What I find snicker-worthy is that Sone’s will voraciously defend their girls by saying the all time strawman – ‘well no one complained when KARA did it, so why can’t we?’ Well, simple. Because KARA never promoted more than one of their ‘translated’ title/hit songs, unlike SNSD. The only one they used so far is Mister. The rest were merely translated for the Japanese album. not for promotion. Hence, its a void argument. If SNSD don’t come up with an original song by mid 2011 for the Japanese market, then don’t hope anymore. seriously.

if they are to promote in Japan longer, then they would have to come up with an original Japanese song bec sooner or later there will be no Korean single left to translate.
Maybe they are afraid to come up with something original bec it can be more risky.

This is exactly what I said in the previous SNSD threads. Maybe an original Japanese release will expose even more SNSD’s inability to learn the language.

At least with remakes of their pop songs it is easier because they know the song, the beat is fast, the bass is loud. They are more comfortable with that. I can’t imagine listening to a ballad song from them right now because their Japanese isn’t good at all and doesn’t seem to be improving after 3 songs.

The things is, they never promote properly either. They would appear twice on Music Station Japan, sing the song with loud background music, they don’t do appearances for TV shows…all these things can motivate them to improve their Japanese. But they haven’t “flown” solo at all, always there’s a translator.

KARA’s Japanese isn’t the best, but it is good. Maybe endorsers/Japanese showbiz people can see that so they offer KARA more and are more confident in KARA’s appeal.

Eww. It’s pretty bad. They really sound like they translated the song to Japanese, and learned the words phonetically.

I actually like this japanese version!

It just sounds weird, somehow all their remakes have been bad. I think they have just learned the lyrics phonetically and not correctly, and they have trouble pronouncing certain sounds.
None of the girls except Sooyoung and Seohyun have even bothered to learn japanese.
Compared to Kara who are working with new material it seems all SNSD’s releases will be remakes and how far will that take them in the future.
