Musical “Goong” opens; Yunho looks beautiful as always

Except for the blue suit. But I think we can deal with that.

And not only is he pretty, his voice is pretty, too! I was kind of taken aback by how much he’s improved…

And the curtain call:

I’m really not a fan of casting idol stars in musicals – it seems like a cop-out/bad attempt to rake in undeserved cash to me – but it’s a step up from casting idol stars in dramas, so I can’t complain too much. Admittedly, I was not a fan of the idea of Yunho being in a musical – his singing is relatively unremarkable and his acting in Heading to the Ground was more than cringe-worthy – but the audio clip above might just be enough to prove my assumptions wrong. Who knew Yunho’s singing skills could’ve improved so much even during this year-long stint of nonactivity? Hmmm…

Yunho will be starring in “Goong” from now until October 24th.

    his vocals are amazing!!! i guess now we can justify the dbsk is made up of people who could be lead singers in groups. i’m really surprised! i think the reason we didn’t get to see his vocal abilities is due to the other members being good and yunho holding the bass notes more than singing with a wider range. good luck for him!

      lee soo man did say that all members of dbsk had the ability to go solo.

    Yunhooooooooooooo! <3 I've always thought that while he's definitely not the best singer in DBSK, he's really not as awful as some people make him out to be. He was just overshadowed by the other members who are just simply amazing singers. He can definitely hold his own vocally, and can seriously outsing a lot of the current idols right now.

    I still wouldn’t consider him a great singer. But he’s good enough to carry out some decent live vocals

    i’ve always considered him a good singer. it’s just that it’s hard to find a song that would suit his voice.

    so happy that people recognize that yunho is a good singer. Yes he is the weakest in dbsk, but his voice is a lot better than many artists out there.

        I know this is kinda late, but:

        too true.

        However, lower notes do suit his voice better. Whether its pop songs, musicals, or operas, lead vocals for both males and females are almost always written in a mid-to-high register.

      Well, I’m not sure if you’ve seen Goong before, but his character is cocky. I think he was staying in character, until later when he’s singing/ he was just kidding around. :) Yeah, I agree Yunho’s voice isn’t the strongest, but it definitely rules out over some others. He’s really improving, and I haven’t seen his acting either so I say good job. ^^

      yunho was originally meant to be a tenor, but he got throat surgery and ended up being a bass instead, so I don’t know if that changes things.

    I actually think Yunho is better with musicals that is combined of musical talents+acting skills +stage charisma. It’s just the right combination for his talents.

    his voice different from other..sometime it can go straight to our heart..i love it..i also agree dat this musicl help him improve a lot.myb his voice are d weakest compare to the other 4 but he keep trying to improve.n show the world he has his own voice,character n talent..let show him our support..
