Far East Movement Makes iTunes Top Ten Singles

13

America’s favorite Asian Hip Hop group, Far East Movement, have made it into the mainstream music scene, it seems. And I know it’s legit since I saw it with my own eyes and heard it on the radio (Hot 99.5!!!!) with my own ears!!

Their current single, “Like a G6″ featuring The Cataracs and Dev, is currently sitting pretty at #9 on the Itunes “Top Songs” chart. WHOO HOO! The last time I was this excited upon hearing FM was when I heard “Dance Like Michael Jackson” playing on “Gossip Girl”!

Take a peek at their “Like a G6″ MV:

This past February, Far East Movement signed a major record deal with Cherrytree Records, a subsidiary of Interscope Records. Earlier this year, they also toured with Robyn and Kelis on their double headlining tour along with Dan Black, and toured with Lady Gaga in Japan!

They will be performing at the upcoming “ISA” shows in LA and New York on September 5th and August 28th, respectively alongside acts including AJ Rafael, Jay Park, Poreotics and Quest Crew. And, starting September 13th, the group began touring with Mike Posner’s Up In The Air Tour throughout the US! These boys are mighty busy!

Their upcoming album, Free Wired, their first under Cherry/Interscope Records, is scheduled to drop on October 12, 2010. Their tracks will feature popular artists such as Bruno Mars, Pitbull, Sean Kingston, Lil Jon, Snoop Dogg, Natalia Kills, and Ryan Tedder from OneRepublic, and include their current hit single, “Like a G6″. Looks like Far East Movement is moving on up (like a G6!!)!

“I don’t listen to American pop music.”

Well, if you listen to Kpop, you basically do.

why are people so shocked fm is the shit. if other asians started making good music like them then there would be more asians in the US music scene. but i personally think if the music is good then race won’t play a part cuz fm music has been playing in clubs forever. djs love them n their songs are always getting noticed by clubs before they’re officially released. same with kings of leon super talented but not played on radios

To be fair, most ‘asians’ in USA are too busy trying to be in touch with a culture their parents abandoned to get up from their accounting jobs and make acceptable music. Their unrelenting use of hyphens causes them to be rejected by mainstream America and they end up blaming some ‘bambo-ceiling’ which they create in their minds. And let’s face facts, with this attitude, asians aren’t going to get popular unless they basically make rap or country music in the USA.

The West Coast (USA) Movement, FEM simply remixed an apparently good song by the Cataracs and rapped over the top in a shouty fashion. I cannot see how they are anything more than a one-hit-wonder, unless they can find another equally good song to shout over. But I’m always ready to be proved wrong.

Can you all remember that HK and Japanese pop were and never have been famous in USA. So it’s unlikely that korean acts are ever going to alter this to their advantage.

The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it’ll do even better in those areas, but for now it’s a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod’s strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.

Jesus Christ there is a lot of spammy feedback on this webpage. Have you actually believed about trying to get rid of them or installing a extension?
