Everytime I hear about pop star’s “ideal types” and looking at their shows and culture, it’s a stab.

I understand.

I’m black too.

I’ve learned their language and culture, yet everytime I listen to their music . . . it haunts that, in my lifetime . . . i may never be a part of it.

I am surprised that black face is seen as normal considering they are supposed to follow the US and whatever it is that we do. But all hope is not lost!

I’m black and I can tell you that I’m awake now!
first that was taeyeon from snsd then seungri and now kikwang?
the saddest is that they probably think it’s normal.

but I want to tell them
no taeyeon there are many beautiful black girls out of your world (travel girl TRAVEL!)
no seungri not all black ppl are wiling to kill you (most don’t even know that you exist)
and no kikwang that’s not funny!

I’m Asian but not Korean. Needless to say, this is unfortunate. I feel embarrassed. It may be acceptable practice, but it doesn’t make it right or any less ignorant.

Blackface definitely seems like an acceptable practice in variety shows – for example, this section of Strong Heart had Jung Joori as “Black Joori” for her dance with Black Soshi.

i feel bad for him, because it wasnt his fault for doing it. yeah part since he went along but like you said it was ignorance but the program is at fault.
