The Family’s last Outing
In the first part of the Family’s farewell episode, all the Family Outing members Yoon Jong Shin, Kim Su Ro, Yoo Jae Suk, Kim Jong Hook, Lee Hyori, Lee Chun Hee, Park Shi Yeon, Park Ye Jin, Park Hae Jin, and Kang Daesung get together to bid farewell to the show, each other, the crew, and the fans. The whole family gathered in Boseong County, South Jeolla Province and it was like old times again. I got a warm happy feeling inside seeing them all together again even though I knew it was for the last time. The PD of the show had said in earlier interviews that they had searched for the perfect place to film the last episode. In the end, they decided to return to Boseong County, the same location and house that they visited in episodes 5 and 6 when Hae Jin was a guest.
Their first chore was to go out and pick some kind of fruit, sorry but I have no idea what it was. The hilarity ensues from the very beginning when everyone sets out from the house with their bamboo poles to pick the fruit. Of course with Hyori having a pole she had to get Jae Suk in the butt for one more time. Guess who’s the only one who gets their bamboo pole stuck between the house and the other house buildings and wires? If you guessed Chun Hee, the original clumsy guy, you guessed right. The family uses the poles to knock down the fruit and have to dodge the falling projectiles. Daesung somehow manages to catch a fruit in the hood of his hoodie instead of being hit in the head by it, our Daesungie got skills. After tasting one fruit and spitting it out, because I’m assuming that it tasted bad, Jae Suk does a body gag with Jong Shin fake punching him while spitting out the rest of the fruit and its seed which look like teeth being knocked out. The Family then makes Shi Yeon, Ye Jin, and Hyori try it out too. Three famous, beautiful, glamorous female celebs doing body gags, this is what happens when you hang out too much with Jae Suk. The Family then start talking about Jong Kook’s MV that he shot with Ye Jin for “Don’t Be Good To Me” and he starts to sing the song and reenact a part of the MV with Ye Jin. I gotta say that in the short clip they showed of Jong Kook singing, he sounded really good a capella. While Jae Suk is talking towards the end of the chore, someone hit a fruit down and the falling fruit hit Jae Suk right on the head then Hyori got him again in the butt. No respect ’til the very end for the Nation’s MC.
The Family then goes on to play their first game of the show, the Monkey Bar Battle. I’m warning y’all now use the bathroom before watching the game or you’ll pee your pants, for real. It was an all out war on the bars as the whole Family started heading out instead of waiting their turns for on-on-one battles. First up was Jong Shin versus Jae Suk and Jae Suk came out swinging. It looks bleak for the sickly elder, but then Jong Kook enters the fray to help him out and then all hell breaks loose. Su Ro comes out to help but ends up making Jae Suk fall, Chun Hee attacks Su Ro from the top of the bars while Jong Shin takes himself out, Daesung comes out on top to help Su Ro while Hae Jin does too for the other team, they take out Su Ro with the help of Jong Kook, then Chun Hee and Hae Jin start picking on Daesung, then Ye Jin comes out to save Daesung, whew. You just got to watch the rest of the ensuing action for yourself it’s too hilarious for words. I’ll just say this, don’t mess with Ye Jin.
Next, the Family starts preparing for dinner. Park Shi Yeon isn’t in any of the dinner scenes because she re-injured her back during the game and went to the hospital for treatment. Jong Shin, Su Ro, and Jong Kook stay at the house to get things started while Chun Hee takes Daesung and Hae Jin with him to catch octopus, uh- octopuses, er- octopusi (?) for some seafood soup. Ye Jin picks Hyori and Jae Suk to accompany her to go do what she does best, catch a chicken. Jong Kook ends up coming out to help when Hyori and Jae Suk prove to not be of much help. Poor Henny Penny never had a chance though, because the Sweet and Savage lady always gets her prey, especially whens she’s hungry.
After dinner, the Family gathers together around the campfire to read letters that they have written to one of the other Family members. It’s touching and funny, classic Family. When it comes to the newest Family members, Hae Jin and Shi Yeon, they do a video message to the Family members and this is when the tears begin to flow. Both Hae Jin and Shi Yeon shed tears in their videos, and as I watched Hae Jin fight to hold back his tears, I felt my heart breaking a little while my own waterworks began to flow. The episode ends with Shi Yeon’s video and cuts to a clip of next week’s episode where the Family makes breakfast for the whole cast and crew in a touching show of appreciation.

this episode is actually not that sad as I imagined it to be… it is actually pretty funny and heartwarming =)
my favourite part gotta be the game segment…savage yejin is back! it has been a long long time since queen hyori met her match… Lady yejin’s “knee kick” is epic!

Best show ever! It was already sad in the beginning when MC said his last “goodbye!” I still say Hyori and Jaesuk should host their own show!
