China’s 50 most beautiful on earth
The Chinese recently compiled a list of the “Earth’s 50 Most Beautiful People for 2009″ and some of the Koreans that made the list surprised me while others bored me.
Let’s start with the ones that bored me. When I say “bored” I mean it in the way that it’s expected, it’s nothing special.
Coming in at #23 was Yoon Eun Hye. I’ve always thought YEH was cute and incredibly like-able but one of the most beautiful? Ellie begs to differ.
Coming in at #26 was actress Ha Ji Won. Beautiful? I agree.
Coming in at #28 was actor WonBin. Yes, everyone loves Wonbin but I’m not a fan.
Coming in at #29 was actor Lee Byung Hyun. He’s damn fine.
Now let’s tackle the list of the Koreans who made it on the list that surprised me.
Coming in at #24 was Han Hyo Joo. She’s very naturally pretty but I don’t know about the earth’s 50 most beautiful.
Coming at #25 was actor Jan Geun Suk. Really?
Coming in at #27 was Family Outing’s Park He Jin. Cute, but seriously?
Coming in at #28, picked for his charisma on stage, was none other than your boy G-Dragon. I’ll give it to G-izzle, the boy has got swag on stage.
Where the heck is Hyori, Park Gahee, Song Hye Kyo, Song Seung Heon, Ji Sung, etc.? Did China get their list right?

I think that Yoon Eun hye IS beautiful. She may not be the typical beauty, but she shines in her own way.
Yoon Eun Hye and Ha Ji Won arent perfectly beautiful, but both have this charm and a different kind of beauty that is captivating…yey, am glad they were in!
am kinda perplexed though on how china made the list..most beautiful on “earth” …had to giggle on that!

These actors aren’t active in China. Maybe Song Hye Kyo – but she’s not currently active, and none of the others are/were.

well, we all have different standards of beauty, and lets face it all of these people are beautiful/handsome/hot

YEH is so much more that just physical beauty she’s pretty, but her effervescent personality makes her beautiful to me…Won Bin…uh…yeah need I really say more? GORGEOUS, one of the few famous dark Koreans…yum! Jang is a cutie and charasmatic I think if I were to see him on the street I would freeze. lol Now, Lee Hyori is plain to me…maybe because she looks like any generic American startlette which is what probably makes her famous in Korea, but one of the crowd here…a lovely crowd don’t get me wrong, but beautiful? Striking? Interesting? No. JMO :)
It is hard to imagine G Dragon as one of the most beautiful people on earth. He is charismatic and has a unique charm, but I am still not sure he deserves to be on the list. I am not a fan of Wonbin’s work, but to me, he is definitely the most beautiful of 2009 and any other year.
I think you guys got it wrong, I believe they picked these people NOT from their outer looks, but certain chrams about them, traits that make them beautiful people not their looks.
the people were chosen for the traits and personalities that attracted people to them and made them beautiful not their physical beauty. they might not be typical beauties but there’s something unique about them that people love. someone got the article wrong
It’s not just a list of physical beauty, it includes personality, charima etc and also popularity. Also take to account the koreans that promote in China and who they’re familiar with. Like in the States where People’s magazine includes far less Asians on their list. Does that mean Asians are less good looking? No, it’s about perspective.

Erm, this is a Singapore magazine not China ^^;
The only thing I can say is, the local editors don’t really do their homework, they kinda just follow the few more popular ones or those who recently visited Singapore/acted in dramas which are shown in local tv/made it to hollywood.
Tell them about groups like 2ne1, big bang, Shinee they probably go ???.

It’s a matter of taste. I don’t find Ha Ji Won pretty. She’s just easy to be looked at. HJW experience & acting credential might be better than YEH, but in term of popularity YEH still excell, especially in Chinese language countries.

YEH beautiful? That’s funny! She’s a cute girl, but I find her to be one of the plainest actresses especially when she doesn’t have her usual caked on makeup! This is more about popularity. If it were really about beauty Song Hye Kyo would’ve been in the top 5!

Idk but I read that Chinese guys like girls like SNSD Jessica, with a “foxy” look, small face, defined features etc. To them Hyori probably looks like a brash sexpot known for her body, not a beautiful woman.

Jessica is the most popular SNSD member in China. But you have to take to account that there are only 3000 members in their fanclub, Jessica takes more fans outta these 3000. That doesn’t mean all Chinese guys like Jessica. They like their “foxy” delicate looks indeed. People like Zhou Xun, Li Xiao Lu, Li Bing Bing, Fan Bing Bing(cant stand her) and maybe Crystal Liu Yi Fei cover the foxy delicate look. But Jessica is way off. Starting with the face/jaw which isn’t heart shaped like they like in China. She’s probably most popular because none of the others in snsd look anything like what the Chinese standards consider pretty. Song Hye Kyo is what Chinese people consider pretty.
Oh and the list above is from Singapore.
