Soo Young, how ’bout a mayonnaise milkshake?

Ah, how ironic that today, THE day of glorious grub-filled gluttony for Americans, that I learn about the “unfortunate” weight plight of SNSD’s leggiest lassie.

sooyoung2_20091126_seoulbeats

In a recent interview with IS PlusSoo “sexiest stems” Young recently confided that she has been actively trying to pack on the pounds…to no apparent adipose-forming avail. She has tried eating everything under the sun -and I do mean everything, one of her favorite dishes is soondae gook (a soup chock full of hearty pieces of pig intestines stuffed with congealed chunks of pig blood, bean curd, and mung-bean sprouts…everybody together now…mMmm!)- but she is totally failing to permanently stick some junk in her trunk…backseat… or even the glove compartment.

Even though she wouldn’t disclose exactly how much she weighs (she insists she is not 45 kgs like it says on her official profile) she is very much aware how delicately volatile the subject of body weight is for Korean women, “I’ll get a severe backlash if I complain about gaining weight, but being too skinny is not attractive. You need to have some fat to be pretty.”

sooyoung_20091126_seoulbeats Put down that dinky lollipop & pick up a deep-fried turkey leg!

Well, Soo Young, I wish you luck on your most honorable quest. Not only am I jealous of your lower appendages, but now of your zero-consequences burgeoning appetite. But if you become desperate to be bootylicious, come to the U.S., we’ll show you how it’s done.

Haha I think she’s really the most gorgeous member of SNSD and I’m glad she’s going to try and put some weight on, she she looked way too thin during Genie promotions. And i miss her round cheeks that she used to have back in the day!

  2. zic says:

SNSD members are so freaking skinny…. for a group that is so loved by many, their bodies don’t set a good image to younger gilrs looking up to them. Except for Tiffany and the dancer girl.

is it just me or doe Seolbeats have 2 more slots for adds now?! I thought you guys weren’t doing this for the money and just wanted to share your insights….sorry to notice, but it kind of make this blog look like it is ran by a bunch of hypocrits..nobody is against you guys making money, but the way you announced it back then was kind of like we are better than others, because we do this with a passion and not for money”..SELLOUTS!!

Seoulbeats probably have ads to help pay for their domain and bandwidth, which can be pretty expensive. They’ve recently expanded their website, so they probably have more daily visitors. The staff is also mostly comprised of young adults, whom I believe might be still attending college. Being a college student is not cheap either. Just be glad they’re not asking the public to donate in a paypal account. They’re trying to best to keep this website going with their own money.

    • kes says:

      I agree with charm.
The ads is for paying the domain and bandwidth.

      It’s not like they are earning loads of money by having these ads ^^;

“But if you become desperate to be bootylicious, come to the U.S., we’ll show you how it’s done.”

      Hilarious ^^

The total of the chemical reactions that maintain the life of a living thing.

Note: In humans, metabolism is related to the intake and use of food; persons with a high metabolism can eat more without gaining weight.

    LUCKY SOOYOUNG… =))

  6. Susp3ndeR_l0ve says:

aww if only i could eat a ton and not gain weight =[

    • xJS says:

      Agree, good for her :)

    • ezra says:

I agree. “I’ll get a severe backlash if I complain about gaining weight, but being too skinny is not attractive. You need to have some fat to be pretty.” — That’s why Sooyoung is my favorite. HAVE YOU SEEN HER ATTACK ON FOOD? Hilarious. X3

  8. Yaleni says:

shes proably alot less or a little over 45kg. :)

  9. Q says:

Better watch out… her metabolism may flip oneday and all that weight will come flying in.

Though it would be unexpected with the training and everthing. It could happen

  10. Angel says:

major props to Sooyoung for saying that you need some fat to be pretty. A little junk in the trunk is ALWAYS nice to have. xD

  11. do i care? says:

    oh wow lucky her -___-

im sorry to complain but some of these ads are really annoying.. i was listening to music and was reading stuff and i keep trying to find places where these other noises were coming from i cant turn it off -_______-
i dont mind the none talking ones they dont bother me at all. and i get you guys need it for the site and stuff..

  12. Momopuff says:

FINALLY! A woman in Korea who realizes that fat=boobs. -___-

  13. yaya says:

She’s super skinny, but she’s still got baby fat on her face! I think she’s still cute and pretty though!

  14. jyyjc says:

she’s like me, i eat alot of fat foods and have midnight snacks every night, been doing this for years. but i never gain weight.

  15. lemialou says:

what is she talking about? she’s already thick…waht does she want to be obese?

  16. Odin says:

Thanks for the article of Soo Young. She doesn’t deserve to be S.N.S.D. You guys know what S.N.S.D. means right? She should go solo or join f(x) instead. I think she one cool girl where you can try out different kinds of delicacies in the mall, or do “restaurant hopping” all day long lol.

  17. Jes-tah! says:

Mayonnaise milkshake? … I think she would vomit from drinking (eating?) that, not gain extra poundage. And even skinny people aren’t satisfied with their image?! WTF.

She SHOULD eat/drink that mayonnaise milkshake. They can pump it into her stomach. Or get a surgical procedure that puts fat into her. -___- I’m madjealous of this freakin’ woman.

  18. bubbles says:

why doesn’t she ask toffany some tips?

  19. i thought she was looking much healthier in the latest goobne CF. you can do it sooyoung!!!

  20. lene says:

oh well even though i’m damn jealous of this girl because she can’t put on weight despite all the eating, i’m glad that at least she doesn’t think that she has to be all that skinny to be pretty. i’m glad that there’s at least someone in the industry who actually WANTS to put on some weight and not be paper skinny.

and seriously, 45kg for her height!? even though she says it’s not true, she can’t be more than 50kg. i’m heavier than her AND shorter than her… *dies*

  21. vs0ne says:

    @ bubbles

tiff’s lost a lot of weight recently as well ;—; if you compare her recent appearances on mcore to those of her debut days, she’s much skinnier nowadays …

if sooyoung’s going to ask anyone, it should be yuri. yuri has a healthy body because she’s toned :D

  22. eLleGIeNa says:

I can understand SooYoung’s body type as I have the same issue; we tend to mainly show healthy weight gain in our faces. It took me 3 years at a desk job to gain 15lbs on a 5′9” frame. Alas, I am picking up sprinting again this month.

  23. mili says:

Rather than junk food, balanced nutrition and protein milkshake will do the work.

I have friend with the same problem and ever since he get consultation and took protein milkshake, he’s getting healthier. :)

  24. Jenni Kim says:

UGH, so jealous of people who can eat as much as they want without gaining weight! My mom is Korean and when she was younger, she was able to eat as much as she wanted without gaining weight. Too bad I got more American genes from my dad than Korean genes from my mom T-T

But it’s good to see some people wanting to gain weight to look healthier rather than be scarily skinny ^^
