YoonA, YoonA, YoonA
Another of your favorite K-pop idols has said that SNSD’s YoonA is his ‘ideal’ girl. On the last installment of KBS show “Champagne”, Andy of Shinhwa picked YoonA out of a field of 32 of K-pop’s hottest female idols. Andy said that he likes YoonA because she is pure and innocent. Andy has been a fan of YoonA’s for a while. He mentioned back in his We Got Married days that the Girls’ Generation member was his ideal girl. If I were Solbi, I would’ve been pissed.
Andy is hardly alone in his adoration of YoonA. Nichkhun of 2PM also claimed that YoonA was his ideal girl on an episode of Sang Sang Plus. This is surprising because on “Mnet Scandal” Nichkhun had said that he preferred older women and his first girlfriend was six years older than him. Our girl in question is in fact two years younger than Nichkhun. On the premiere of Strong Heart, co-MC Lee Seung Gi also confessed that YoonA, who was a guest, was his ideal girl. Seung Gi was all shy and flustered when talking to YoonA for the rest of the show. Out of all the girls of SNSD, YoonA also has done the most solo acting jobs, appearances, and CFs.
Am I missing something here? I like YoonA, I really do, but I just don’t get her popularity. I don’t even think she’s the most beautiful, innocent, purest, or nicest member of SNSD, I would pick Taeyeon. What is it about this girl that makes the men of Korea giddy? I guess beauty really is in the eye of the beholder.

maybe it’s charisma? She has the girl next door feel to her. And she’s also not gorgeous enough to be intimidating- so she sort of stands out in that aspect.
And i think some guy celebs name her as their ideal girl because everyone else is doing it and her name is the first to come to mind. It’s like when asked to name a really hot korean celebs, the first name to come to mind would be Won Bin…but then when I really think about it, there are korean celebs that I think are even hotter than WonBin but their names just don’t pop.

Yep. Sorta how “Brad Pitt” or “Johnny Depp” is like, the generic hot-guy to name. People won’t question or dwell into it too much because, well, everyone else says it anyway.

I used to think so too, but then I found pictures of Yuri’s past, and it really looks like she had surgery (I’m not sure, but she definitely looks different from now)

maybe i’m blind but i really don’t think yoona is beautiful. she isn’t ugly, but she would definitely not be my ideal girl if i was a guy *_*
It’s not just about beauty cause it’s obvious that she’s not the most beautiful girl in the world. I never really understood her appeal until I started watching her on variety shows. She’s got that charisma and personality that makes her stand out and the more you watch, the more beautiful she becomes. She’s not one of my fav from SNSD, but I can understand why she gets all the guys!
I don’t get her appeal either but in SNSD she gives the most ‘naturally pretty’ vibe without a doubt.

Lol, as if women can understand what men think (and other way around). I never felt that Tiffany is as gorgeous as my brother thinks, he does not understand who can be interested in Donghae. Just some chemistry that works for opposite gender, I suppose =)

Honestly, I couldn’t pick her out of a crowd. She’s cute, but she’s average….Btw, no one is saying Song Hye Kyo anymore?! I remember a time when she was considered one of the most beautiful in Korea! Is she old news now or somethin?

nothing about her stands out for me thats why ifind it so odd that shes probably the most popular in SNSD.
but then again there are lots of other female stars that are popular for puzzling reasons too
She’s young, thin, fit and fashionable. She’s pretty. She knows she’s pretty. But she isn’t hung up on it.
She has that air of confidence in her looks that very few girls that are good looking have.
That type of genuine confidence is alway attractive — in either men or women.
It means that a guy probably isn’t going to have to spend an hour telling her that her butt doesn’t look too big before they finally go out to dinner. It means that if you’re the guy she’s with, given all her other options, she’s not settling for something less until something better comes along.
And isn’t all that an ideal kind of girl that any guy would want?

Same here, i really dont get her appeal. She is pretty and all that, but i just dont see her charisma. In SNSD I’d say SooYoung is my favorite.

Yoona is the new Kim Tae Hee I guess. KTH used to be every guy’s ideal girl.
I wonder if celebrities pick out certain favorite “ideals” (YoonA, Hyori, Moon Geun Young, etc.) and don’t deviate because it’s safe. The usual favorites aren’t very controversial and they never seem like a realistic pairing. Maybe if Andy said his ideal was someone more unique, like… In Sooni (LMAO idk), people might think they really had something going on. IDK.
After Taeyeon’s racist incident thing, she was done from being the nicest purest member of the group. I think she is gorgeous and if it was on looks, compared to Yoona i’d pick her.

That’s because guys are puppets. They cant make up their own minds. It’s rare for guys to speak out what they like they want the easy way like copy others.
It’s like a domino effect. if a guy says they like Yoona the others are gonna say the same thing.
i TOTALLY TOTALLY agree with you. you couldnt put it any better! and from my real life experience, guys rarely say things right. they THINK they know what they want, but that rarely is the case. i dont know on how many occasions ive seen a guy say he likes this “type” of girl and end up falling in love with someone completely different.
and its like a trend thing. just like saying brad pitt is the hottest, you dont think abt it, you just say it off your head. but you dont mean it.
