Throwbacks: TAKE, oh take me back
So, I was rooting through some oldy-moldy files on the ole’ PC when I came across a lone KPop folder containing only two MVs from Take (a 5 memberboy band circa 03-06ish). Aaaaaaaand the memories came a-floodin’ back.
There was a time, fellow KPop fans, where I shunned KPop altogether and dabbled in other music genres. (Celene Dion may or may not have been listened to. On repeat. 24/7). Anyways, a friend sent me these two MVs to get my KPop juices to flow again. She failed. But I became briefly & solely obsessed with these boys nonetheless.
Even though, Do Wan, Seung Hee, Sung Jae, Min Hyuk, and my favorite, Nathan Lee can’t hold a candle to the boy bands circa nowadays, they will always hold a special place in that ole’ love organ of mine.
Their hit, “Ring,” remains my all-time Take favorite:

I remember TAKE! I remember this song- but never realized they had an mv for it!
I was sort of in love with Nathan too. I think he was from the US…? And his sister was trying to break into the korean music industry too. I think she had like one or two songs and then disappeared.
And there was also that one dude who opens his mouth REALLY wide when singing. i see he does it here too.

never heard of em but really like this song. i would have jammed to it had i been into kpop back in 03. the base beat is actually quite contemporary.

Butterfly Grave is one of my favorite songs of all time.
Ring was actually written by Moon Hee Jun and was supposed to be on H.O.T’s 6th album…but obviously that never happened because the group ended up disbanding.
I really liked them, though it was hard to find stuff on them. I got into them about when I first got into kpop a few years back. My favorite song was…butterfly I think. I may be remembering the wrong name. I just remember someone died in the mv and had butterfly wings.
i wasn’t really a fan of them but i remember i absolutely loved nathan’s sister joanne
she was so talented for a 14 yr old and i was pretty sad the rumors of her comeback in 2007 wasn’t true =[
i actually recently discovered them because of the song “butterfly grave,” which is on replay for me atm. beautiful song. i thought they are/were (?) active in china. i know nathan is.
TAKE!!!! Gosh i miss them so much. They are like the best acapella group ever created.
i love TAKE. they have really nice vocal and their songs are all good. i have their albums too and managed to find a couple of their live performances including one of Butterfly Grave which is beautiful. i’ve also wondered whatever happens to them. if i’m not mistaken, one of them left the group. have they disbanded or something?
Omo! It’s the Butterfly Grave boys lol. I really loved them when they came out because they were like the resident pretty boys when everything was new and escaping from Hip-Hop. Nicee on the throwback article
i dug through my old music files and came across them also. These guys definitely were underrated for their talent. when they came out with nabi moodum, i was glad that they earned some recognition. i randomly came across sung jae and seung hee videos of them singing at weddings. where they at now?
TAKE!!!!! Aaaaahhhhhh i love this band. I liked them since Baby baby and their first album is the 1st Korean album i liked in full, well baring 2 tracks. I’m not a Korean you see.
I wish this band would make a comeback, they have really really good voice. I also miss Swi.T and M.I.L.K. Wish they’d make a comeback.
Really like their song butterfly grave… the last thing I heard of them was that some members are in the military and Nathan Lee’s in China doing movies/dramas/MC stuff. His Chinese is REALLY good (dang he’s got English, Korean and Chinese under his belt- Hope they reunite again sometime.

I can send it to you. But how? In fact i can give you the whole 1st album. I absolutely love that album. It’s awesome! Most of the songs on there are good.
I love Take, especially one song.
When they went to China it really was the end of their career over in Korea same for The Grace with Japan.
yeah, you should always make sure your mega popular in Korea before venturing out…

I think, back then if I had heard about them during their active days, I might have been jamming to this song xD
