The YG Fam Gets New Digs; Also, G-Dragon in Tinfoil
YG seems to be the only music conglomerate not drowning in a sea of controversy these days (oop, now I’ve jinxed them). In fact, by all appearances, they’re doing quite well for themselves. YGTV has given the company some added exposure and familiarity with fans, and big cash cows G-Dragon and 2NE1 are breaking records left and right. So what to do with all that money made on the backs of overworked young men and women?
Redesign your crib, baby! The new YG tower is located in Mapo-gu, Hapjung-dong, with 8 floors, 7 above ground and 1 underground. Construction started in June of 2008, and while the outside is finished, the interior has yet to be worked on. This sexy new spot is said to be Yang Hyun Seok’s very own Fortress of Solitude.

Changing gears just a bit, G-Dragon is number one again, and his theme for his Music Bank performance is tinfoil, shiny things everywhere! To be honest, I had no idea what to think or expect from G-Dragon upon his solo debut; I thought he had went crazy for awhile. Heck, maybe he still is.
But with every performance, every iteration of “Heartbreaker”, something there has struck a chord with me. Something within his crazy, androgynous, emo, misunderstood artist of a mind. I’ll watch one of his performances and just think, “Wouldn’t it be wonderful he just morphed into David Bowie?”
The Korean David Bowie. If this is what we have to look forward to, I’ll keep watching.

i just saw that labyrinth movie of David Bowie & Jeniffer Conelly. yeah the baby was at first crying because he was afraid of all those creatures. but later he was all smiles.
Wow YG really upgrade themselves. yeah thisis all for the better of their Family. so that they can have better facilities and equipment. i can see the training room from those glass windows.
maybe later i can go there and stalk thoes BB & 2ne1. we can even see them practice their dance moves. hehehe

Am I the only one who has noticed that G-Dragon cannot sing in pitch to save his life?
What I mean to say is, I love G-Dragon. A LOT. And I think he’s a great performer, and he has a great style, and he’s a fantastic rapper.
But let’s just say, since seeing all of these live performances…. I see now that all the autotune used in his CD wasn’t just a stylistic choice.

gd’s probably the first mainstream REALLLL musician we’ve had in a long time, except maybe epik high. but more mainstream.
but yeah i noticed that after the first few performances his pitch is getting worse. i wonder if he’s sick or something, cause i know he can sing pretty well…
YG is having a huge years so a new building will be the cherry on top.
uhm… YG’s building looks great… probably was able to build it thanks to Big Bang (their cash cow). XD GD’s not a great singer but his stage presence is outstanding! YG has had it’s ups and down this year too… With se7en’s US venture issue and Daesung’s accident.
I think over all it’s been their year ( maybe years…). YG is so used to being controversial (GD’s and TOP’s clothing– shirt logo and jacket logo, accusations. etc.) that nothing really is going to break them.

I feel like they’re going to go back after him again especially if they see this new building..
